Driving from Canada, my girlfriend and I were very hungry. It was 10pm on June 3rd, 2023. We tried to stop in for a bite at the Pio Nono location, but were greeted outside in the parking lot, by 2 unusually behaving black males, wearing Waffle House uniforms. They were inside the restaurant, but came outside. 1 was obviously the cook, and the other was working counter. The cook told us a LIE, and said that their dine-in section was CLOSED, but the take-out was still being served. They told us it was because crime was so bad in the area. I knew 100% they were lying, but figured they would contaminate our meals, because they simply did not want to work. In my 52 years, I have never seen such a disgusting display of laziness. Waffle House, we drive a long ways off our route to eat, then to be lied to and turned away, was very disappointing. WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS Pio Nono LOCATION. Absolute the sketches 2 guys I've ever met. The cook looked under the influence. His eyes were EXTREMELY BLOODSHOT, AND his behaviour was erratic. Waffle House, the ONLY SAVING GRACE THAT SAVED YOUR REPUTATION WAS Caleb and Kat from Waffle House at Byron (1086). We drove to this location next, and we're surprised by the complete difference in attitude, courtesy, and service. The worst part about it was, an elderly couple over heard our conversation, and the nice lady told us the EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO THEM AT THE Pio Nono location. Waffle House, I understand labour shortages are a problem, but hiring these 2 lying lumps of coal, will only DESTROY YOUR...
Read moreI kept trying to call in an order at 4:15am kept getting a recording about dine in guest and limited phone calls. One problem NO DINE IN, walk up window only,. I went pulled up to the walk up window, walked up, waitress Sarah takes her time to come from behind counter. I ask first about if they took call in orders, she said she had been to busy to answer the phone., she was by herself. There was one person in the parking lot waiting for a single order. Then she told me she could not take my order as long as I was parked there it was a safety issue. I ask to give my order and go park. Then she said that the cook would not accept my.order with me parked there, then I see he is sitting comfortably in the corner. I told her I was a handicapped senior citizen please let me place my order and go park. NO! I had to park, walk to window place my order and go baxk to my car until it was ready. No sign saying no parking or anything. So I left at this point I did not want them preparing food for me behind locked doors. I don't think Sarah wanted to W-O-R-K. just a job and a small paycheck probably so she could get her government benefits. Very rude! Oh I forgot to mention Sarah is black and I am Caucasian, wonder how much that had to do with it!!! My question does the cook Kevin know how to...
Read morePaid for two grilled chicken sandwiches to go. Sat and watched the old, grumpy, female cook prepare them, along with two other orders for seated guest. I'm assuming she wore gloves to simply keep her hands from getting anything on them, because I watched her take the raw chicken breast out of the fridge, place them on the grill, then pick up the other guest toast with her still wet from the raw chicken gloved hand. I watched as she continued to grab and touch anything and everything with her perfectly gloved hand. As she picked up the buns for my sandwiches, then the condiments....I simply stood up and walked out. As stated, I'd already paid the $11.55 for the two sandwiches. As I got into my car, my friend, who'd decided to wait in the car, asked me what happened to the food? After telling her what I saw, and while trying to find somewhere else to go, we debated if it was better to be able to directly watch someone prepare your food or not. Now I don't know if the other guest got any sort of cross contamination food poisoning, or just did not know why their toast was a bit moist, but that was my first and last time going to a waffle house. And I've ZERO concern...
