Firstly, to understand my review, you should know that Asian food is tiered. For example: Roadhouse is not on the same level as a Wolfgang restaurant, yet both produce good food!
Ming's had us feeling weary about what to expect due to the various reviews. We have had access to top notch authentic Asian restaurants at our former residence, so the bar is very high. We also love Asian cuisine and as such take it seriously.
We pulled up and ordered through a very busy drive-thru. There's currently no dine in area which sucks, thus the 3 stars for atmosphere. The person who took our order was very pushy and I didn't quite understand him. However, he was friendly enough afterwords when he delivered the food. We rushed home eat and was NOT disappointed by portion size. We could have easily split the Sesame Chicken dinner with lo mein. The Chicken Fried rice was also very generous and crammed into the boxes which overflowed with sauce and food.
The food was fresh, very hot, and tasted wonderful. Because we were home, I did dress the fried rice up with some quality soy we had on hand. We both really like the Sesame Chicken. The best way I can describe this food is as a mom & pop Asian Cafe. It's authentic, generous, and enjoyable. Also very affordable. This is not a top tier restaurant with deep immersive flavors, however it's great cuddled around the TV our around the table with family or...
Read moreThis place is kind of hit or miss. I've been there sometimes and gotten spectacular food and other times...meh. One nice thing about it is that they have a drive thru, but you have to be careful because they don't seem to be bright enough to figure out that if someone's order won't be ready for another 20 minutes they should tell them to pull around again or park. I've literally gotten stuck there for over 15 minutes before being able to get around the loser in front of me so I can pick up my by then cold food. And what do the people at the counter say when you ask them why they kept a line of five cars waiting: "those people's order wasn't ready yet". Oh really? Well mine was, so how's about we put on our thinking caps and tell the inconsiderate idiot to leave and come back in 10 minutes, so the rest of us can get the orders that are ready? But I digress... One thing I would recommend are their chicken wings, which are delicious, available in party ready order sizes and surprisingly affordable. . I enjoyed their fried rice, ribs and mei fun, while my dad is a huge fan of the shrimp and snow peas. Dishes I would avoid include the lomein and their tempura shrimp, which is gummy and tasteless. Overall I would say it's worth a visit, but cross your fingers when you place your order and use the drive thru at...
Read moreI ordered food from this particular establishment and I am highly allergic to mushrooms and mushrooms was all over my food and I didn't touch the food of course but by the time I noticed they were closed so eventually I had to wait until the following day to report the incident. I called and I got nowhere with them because they told me that it was my problem that I had mushrooms on my food which is baffling to me especially if I told you that i can't have them. I normally check my food before leaving but I was in a hurry and I waited until I got home later that night to eat the food. All I wanted was for them to remake my food I never ask for any money back but the guy on the phone was so rude to me and all he was worried about is what time I called to tell them if they had been open of course I would've called them back but again they were closed by the time that i had noticed so the moral of this issue is to always check your food before leaving because they don't care if the mistake is on their part because I am deathly allergic to mushrooms and thank God I noticed before I even Inhaled the food. No more business from me and this is the reason I try not to eat that...
