Detroit Bbq Company — Restaurant in Madison Heights

Detroit BBQ catered my wedding 2 months ago, and although this is way overdue I’m writing this review because I am still in awe at their high standard of service, professionalism, and overall quality. I had 3 trucks in total at my wedding and I didn’t hire a wedding coordinator, so for the months leading up to the event I was working very intimately with the manager and owner of Detroit BBQ. I basically had her on speed dial and she was one of the most pleasant, supportive, and helpful people I had the joy of working with throughout the entire process. When the truck arrived, the other owner quickly came and introduced himself, letting us know that they were ready for service whenever we were. They were the most popular truck there and they were able to feed close to 100 people with impressive speed. No one was left waiting too long, no one was hungry, and everyone RAVED about the quality of the food. I truly cannot say enough good things about Detroit BBQ. I can't attest to how the food tastes because we never got that far. Contracted this company to cater my family's event at Belle Isle and paid the $265 deposit. They became very UNresponsive when we let them know they needed to fill out a vendor form and give a copy of their insurance to the park, which is a State requirement. After a lot of promises, they never did what they were required to do. And to top it off Tim cursed at me, saying he was sick of jumping through my hoops and he was going to give me my money back. True to form, they did NOT keep their word and refund my money. So, they took my family's $265 for zero (0) service! This is a very unprofessional business!!! They were at the midway carnival in Algonac. Went to get some food from them an found them very unorganized,and unprofessional. Rushing customer if front of me, telling him "Come on guy lets go" as he was trying to order. When it came my turn they were also rude and unorganized with there menu. When i asked for 2 bbq plates, one pulled pork , one burnt ends with mac an cheese i was given just the plates with the meat ,beans, and corn bread. I told them i also wanted mac an cheese and got NO SUBSTITUTES YELLED at me as a response. I was willing to pay the extra , but the women that was taking the orders was very un organized.also.
