Barriques Coffee - University — Restaurant in Madison

This Barriques location's food is UNACCEPTABLE. I have ordered food to be delivered from Barriques so many times I can't even count them all. I have loved the food I have received from each and every one of those times, except for the last 2 times. Today I ordered a $50+ 4-item order to be delivered from what it appears was the location at 2505 University Ave. We did not receive the 2 pieces of bacon we ordered and paid extra for on one of our items; we also did not receive the 2 sides of salad dressing we for the side salad that we ordered; and in addition, the side salad itself contained mostly ROTTEN pieces of mixed greens. DISGUSTING. ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTING. The employees and manager at this location need to stop and take a good long look at what exactly is going wrong there with their food safety and business practices. I am 100% fed up with nearly every restaurant in Madison we order from not preparing food in a proper, neat, or food safe manner, nor aligned with the customers' orders. The bar has been set so absolutely low for food service quality and professionalism in this city that said bar has long ago been buried underground. And to note- I am physically disabled, unable to get up and leave my house whenever I want; I rely heavily on restaurants and food delivery services for my and my children's literal survival. I don't want to talk about that to anyone working in any restaurant or driving for any delivery service that I've ordered from because I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO say anything about that in order to persuade any of them to do things the way they are supposed to be expected to be done in the first place. I get coffee or lunch here at LEAST 1/2x a week. The staff is always so welcoming, friendly, and the drinks and food are always fantastic. The pesto grilled cheese is one of the best grilled cheeses I've ever had tbh.

The prices are a little higher than some other places, but I think it's worth it for a local cafe. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting and relaxing. I could sit there for hours and just zone out, read, get work done, or anything! Another small con I'll mention is that the food often takes a while to get out to you, sometimes drinks too. But again, this is a small local cafe and they've had had a fairly small staff recently. But the food is always fresh and delicious and I love their lattes.

I just really appreciate how hard the staff work and it does get very busy at times with the high school students, but they work through it with a smile. They are bringing in some new baristas lately; I'm glad they're getting more help and I'm looking forward to interacting with these folks as well....

I have been to all of the other Barriques, McKee, Old Sauk, and on Park St when they were open and I’ve always seen this location and thought it would be cool to come to. I got there 1:30pm on a Tuesday(today) not busy, walked right up to the counter, wasn’t greeted so I asked how are you doing, no response just how can I help you. I ordered my drink and breakfast sandwich like usually. The coffee came quick and is good but I got the breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs.. how am I supposed to eat that if there’s eggs falling all over the place. Not friendly and not how the sandwich is supposed to be made.
