This place is really awesome! They make burritos that will barely fit in a to-go box all for $6.99 plus tax. You build your own meals with a wide variety of ingredients to choose from. You can order tortas, tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas and I think more. Those are what I know off the top of my head, but all of their menu items are under $9 and you definitely get more than what you pay for! They have a very similar set up as Chipotle's, but they are cheaper and much more friendly and authentic! I have had both Chipotle's and El Rancho many times and still I would much rather eat at El Rancho's. They also sell authentic Mexican versions of Coca-Cola products imported from Mexico that still get bottled in glass bottles with real sugar. How can you beat that? Their restaurant has a real cozy atmosphere and as I said the people have always been very friendly. You can take your food to-go or you can eat in at one of their many booths. I love the service and the food and listening to the awesome mariachi music that plays! They are small and don't look like much passing by, but trust me, they are very much worth going out of your way for to check out! I'm lucky because they are very close by to where I work, so I have visited many a times on my lunch breaks. You HAVE to...
Read moreI’ve been driving by this place for three years and never noticed it until like a couple of days ago. And they said they just painted it green so people could notice it and I said well that must’ve been. What did it. Stop there to get some food on the way home Because it has great reviews. Ordered the mixed meat plate with Carnitas and shredded beef. Pinto beans were great rice just OK. The shredded beef was in some sort of a sauce and I believe that that’s what gives me indigestion right now. It’s not a large portion And it’s $13. My wife had chilirelleno. what I noticed is that everything is premade like a cafeteria. They just serve it right onto. styrofoam to go plate. I was surprised that the chilerellano Special $10.99 was premade and greasy. My wife has a stomachache from it. Anyway, the guys were nice in there and I wish them the best but we won’t be eating there anymore because there’s too many great Mexican places to...
Read moreI had a complicated uber eats order and everything arrived as ordered and fresh. This is definitely the best mexican food I've had in Madison. The carne asada was flavorful, the hot sauce was spicy and flavorful, and my husband's burrito was very good. Thing that could be improved include the queso which was average, but not amazing, and the tortillas. The tortillas tasted either not homemade or maybe a little old. The tacos were much better when I left the bottom tortilla and only ate them with one.
Overall, El Rancho is good enough that we have found our new go to spot for Mexican food in Madison, which is something we have been sorely missing!...
