We stopped in for dinner while staying in the area for travel. It was relatively close to our hotel, and the menu looked good, so we went there.
It was a bit low key on the outside. Not unlike a garage. It sort of reminds me of a VFW, and very well could have been - no judgement there. Just didn't look like a restaurant.
There was plenty of parking in the lot out back, so that was a plus.
The server seemed busy, and it was a hot day, so she may have been tired. It took her a bit to get warmed up to us, but she eventually did, and was very nice.
The food was the drawback, here. Most of what we ordered was not available. So we had to take extra time to look at the menu again (we had already looked at it online before going, and it was the reason we chose that place).
We got the appetizer of the Spicy Calabrian Shrimp. The shrimp were tough and chewy, and the Calabrian chili sauce was watery and didn't stick to the shrimp. But it didn't taste bad, so we ate it.
My dinner was the Cheese Crusted Chicken, which also tasted good. It would have been a little bit better if the cheese "sauce" had been prepared more. The shreds of Parmesan were still whole, and not melted into it. But again, it didn't taste bad. The rice pilaf was done well.
My son got the Pasta Primavera, which was also watery for some reason. The pasta looked naked, but the vegetable medley was there, so it wasn't completely plain. I ended up giving him some of my chicken, to add something to the dish.
My husband got the Prosciutto Cordon Bleu, and he said he liked it a lot. It did look good, but I didn't taste it.
Our drinks were strong, so that was a big plus.
By the end of our meal, we were ready to go sleep in the hotel, and the server was kind to have a conversation with us about our travels.
All things considered, I probably wouldn't eat there again, but for casual dining for residents in town, it's...
Read moreWe first looked up this restaurant online and the pictures looked amazing so off we went. When we arrived we were confused because the outside doesn’t match the crafty food pictures but once you walk in the place is done up well. Clean and plenty of seating. We ordered drinks the pineapple Paloma ( which was not good but not their fault. It’s just too much acidic fruit with tequila) and the spicy mango mule (not bad). We ordered our appetizers and dinner which were the meatballs and margarita flat bread and the lobster Campanelli and the chicken cordon blue. Took quite a while to get the appetizers but they came out looking like the picture. The meatballs are spicy! Very good but 🥵. The flat bread was good as well. Our main dishes came out before we even finished our appetizers and were not slow eaters. We ordered 2 more drinks this time my husband ordered a mango margarita with double tequila ( they don’t carry and high end tequila surprising for a craft cocktail bar so it was average ) his chicken cordon Blu was great he said. My lobster Campanelli left much to be desired. The angel hair pasta was over cooked and the small bits of lobster were mushy as well leaving no distinction in texture between the pasta and the lobster with the use of too much red pepper. I was unimpressed for the price but if these dishes were priced for the quality of the food I’d be satisfied. We’ll definitely go back (probably not order drinks) and try some other dishes. Looking forward to the pork chops and trying...
Read moreStaying the weekend at a B&B in Madison celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary dinner husband googled restaurants in area this one stated 4.5 stars. Pulled in no one else in parking lot and no other customers in the restaurant first red flag should of left @ that point. Waitress was friendly but her hair was very long and should of been pulled back and out of the way from serving food, she seemed hurried and short with her answers. The food was extremely over priced especially for the appearance of the establishment and location. I ordered the chicken breast dinner with a supposedly cream sauce, cheese, panto bread crumbs and a rice pilaf. My husband ordered the shrimp & scallop Alfredo over a pasta, salads were very small finely chopped and an overwhelming taste of onions, our iced teas were not refilled. When my dinner came out it was a chicken breast cut in half grilled marks and topped with a slice of provolone and panko bread crumbs and the rice pilaf was sticky and dry. My husband's meal tasted overly fishy and the shrimp and scallops were tuff and the Alfredo sauce was runny, it looked like they opened a jar of Alfredo sauce and used that. Very disappointed in this establishment and even more so our anniversary dinner. I also took pictures of our meals and no where on here am I able to post them. Save your $ and go to the bar across the street there parking...
