Well they got me to write my first review. The employees did something today that I really appreciated and made me evaluate why I go there.
Now this is all my own personal experience but believe my regularity holds some weight to my experience and opinions.
I eat there for lunch 2 or 3 times a week at varying hours around lunch time for the past 6 months. They do what they set out to do make sandwiches fast and deliver them fast. What's surprising is the quality and consistency of their business.
Now I'm not one for brand loyalty, I go to wherever I feel like because of different criteria and I've been to plenty of different Sandwich places including different JJ's. Every Jimmy John's generally looks the same and has the same atmosphere, that's not what this is about.
The people working there are what carry and dictate my experience. And, those people have the BEST customer service I've had anywhere consistently. They are fast, relaxed, confident, and easy to talk too.
They make their sandwiches in about 30 secs or less yet 95% of the time come out looking like they grabbed it out of a sign or came from a commercial. I don't know what kind of sandwich magic they pull but it works. Yet, they never seem to be in a rush and are able to talk a bit at no detriment to their speed or quality. They are aware and have always catered to me as quickly as possible. Even if it's just a head nod reaffirming my existence. It feels like they are professionals. Above all else, they are human, which seems to be have forgotten in most chains.
The only negative about this location is what seems to be a skeleton crew. They appeared understaffed multiple weeks during the last 6 months and were working hard to pick up the slack. This is most apparent in their delivery times during these periods of low man power, taking up to 45 mins on one occasion. But, this speaks more to employee retention than the employees themselves so I hope the company is doing everything they can to keep the fantastic employees they still have. For they are the only reason why I frequent that JJ and make me remiss whenever I go to a different Sub Store.
Again I am not one for loyalty but the people working here...
Read moreI should have known by the reviews... But I placed my order anyway. I tried to pick my sandwiches up 25 minutes after I placed my order, only for them not to be ready.
After waiting five minutes, the guy asked what my name was and said he was just getting to them. I asked him how long it would take because my daughter needed to be at her vball game. He said 5-7 minutes, so I said I'd be right back after dropping her off.
15 minutes later, I walked into the store and he said again, "I'm just getting to them now." When I asked him why they weren't done, he said he was the only one there working. Ok, that's fine, but what did he do during the fifteen minutes I was gone? Well, he obviously made the sandwiches for the other people who had since come into the store and were sitting enjoying their sandwiches.
50 minutes is not freaky fast. This store does not prioritize in the order that orders are placed. The online orders are bumped to the end of the line. I love Jimmy John's, but I'll frequent the one in Middleton instead. I never have issues there.
Oh, and as far as the atmosphere of the store - Don't play heavy metal music. That's for weightlifters in the gym, not for...
Read moreOrdered online for pickup. Got to the very small uninviting location and waited to pick up my order (this isn't why I'm giving 2 stars)
The person that rung me up lacked basic communication skills and was really curt when he did talk to me. I waited for him to say something once I had been rung up and I ended up just saying "okay, thanks, have a great day" because it was so awkward and there was no communication.
While I was waiting one of the guys said to another "you need to help out more" which I just felt was really unprofessional to say while 3 customers were there. And as if the guy ringing me up who was obviously bothered or, God forbid, the manager wasn't supposed to be ringing me up because he was "too good" for such a task. Get over yourself mate.
The way employees are treated directly effects a franchise and my husband and I will go to Cousins or Firehouse subs from now on. I only went here yesterday because I had...
