Dear Syovata,
I was fortunate enough to have been gifted a variety of your delicious chocolate. I can tell you with confidence that it was the best "chocolate consuming" experience I have ever had. Everything, from the packaging, the design, texture, and the variety of flavors were absolutely perfect! I typically don't like flavored chocolate but you have perfected the art and science of it and you've achieved a rarity in the culinary world by daring to do something new and in a new way but still maintaining the integrity of the ingredients and avoiding any departure from and/or erosion of their essence. Instead you've managed to maintain their essence and elevated it to new heights and in a new way, and I say that as a culinary traditionalist. I've also worked in the hospitality industry, mostly in high end hotels and I can tell you that your chocolate is way better than what they serve at the Waldorf Astoria by a million miles and yours should be the standard for such establishments. Such artistry and craftsmanship embodies all the finest qualities of both the human and American spirit as well as black excellence and only demonstrates the tremendous value that comes from the small businesses of this country that often bring a higher quality and value to their customers than their corporate competitors. I wish you all the best in your endeavors and look forward to trying all your amazing creations.
With kind...
Read moreThis review is long overdue. After following CocoVaa Chocolatier for over since 2022, I finally placed my order earlier this year. I knew that eating this chocolate was going to be an experience.
However, I did not realize how great the experience would be ! From the taste, packaging to the prompt delivery to NYC, everything matched the product. What also struck me was the interesting background of the owner, Syovata Edari.
Syovata is a mother, activist and lawyer turned to an award -winning chocolatier. As a Black woman owned small business owner operating in Wisconsin, the challenges that I have witnessed her and her family face, makes me angry and disappointed to say the least. Blatant racism, lies and other forms of harassment continue to plague her impeccable business via cyber bullying. Despite all of this, Syovata and her family continue to give outstanding product and customer service.
I urge everyone to support CocoVaa Chocolatier in every way possible as they work to expand their capacity in the upcoming months ahead. As I understand, they will re-open in September after a brier hiatus. Please support this...
