We have went here for years and this place just continues to steadily go down hill. Last night was the final straw! We went here as a family of 5.. didn't order anything crazy just one large pizza with half mushroom & half mushroom/pineapple and a family size chicken alfredo. The first issue was the salad bar.. it costs $4.99 to add a salad onto your meal which is high to begin with & the salad bar is NOT even close to what it used to be. It did NOT have cottage cheese, pears, sunflower seeds, cold spiral pasta, crackers, the curly crunchy brown things or eggs! You know.. all the best parts about the salad bar. The ranch dressing was so tangy it was hard to tolerate. The second issue was the chicken alfredo. It wasn't the spiral pasta like it always has been.. it was the long hollow noodles which was not a welcome surprise. We were not warned of this before hand and it was awful because it was mostly pasta & no sauce.. the sauce didn't taste right either & the pasta had been cooked so long it was hard as a rock and crunchy. But after waiting 30 minutes for it you just eat it. Our pizza finally came after 3 of us were already finished eating the pasta & had been waiting 45 minutes. The place was NOT over ran.. there was one other family in there when we got there but we did sit and watch them hand atleast 10 orders out the pick up window while we sat & waited. The final issue.. which really iced the cake was our waitress bringing us one ticket ($57 for one large pizza, chicken alfredo pasta, 2 salad bars & 5 drinks..RIP OFF!!) but 5 minutes later she turns around and brings us another ticket for $58 saying her manager had made her add extra sauce onto it.. WHAT?! We didn't even order extra sauce & didn't know we got extra sauce.. then our waitress admitted that she had brought extra sauce to our table accidentally. Not my problem! And the fact she didn't tell her boss this ahead of time & had the nerve to try to charge US for it. Get out of here! And she had lied and told us a large pizza was $14.99 (still a rip off considering domino's is $5.99 and much better) it ended up being $17.xx + tax. We will NEVER go back here and that's unfortunate because it is a small town and not alot of choices on restaurants but this...
Read moreThere really needs to be a way to award zero stars.Total disappointment today. I've gone to the buffet many times over the past several months and enjoyed it a lot. Today there were four pizzas, most half gone, on the buffet the entire time I was there. All thin crust. I asked the waitress when there would be more put out and she said soon. Never got a drink refill. Waited another twenty minutes then had to leave to get back to work.
The waitress rang me up and said "Decided not to wait, huh?" Asked her why there wasn't anything on the buffet, now only 2 half pizzas. There were other people there as well, still waiting.
I was told they had a new manager and they weren't allowed to put more out when they weren't busy. Maybe but you have to feed the people who were there right? She just threw up her hands and said there was nothing she could do and that she just works there. Terrible answer.
I worked in food service for years and ran a very successful pizza buffet as well. They just don't know how to do it properly. You have to give people something.... anything.... and you can't jus blame it on the owner. Oh well. My advice to the owner/manager is to shut down the buffet if you can't run is successfully at a profit. You're just causing more folks like me to not come back and therefore making it even less busy.
Even in small town Madison, there are ways to "Out pizza the hut". Won't be back. Good luck bilking people for their money until you run out...
Read moreVisiting family and went when buffet had just closed. We were going to order pizza. However the waitress said we could still order a Buffet it was "still open" and was very encouraging that we still could. Other guest came in right behind us and the same thing was told to them. They also ordered Buffet. There was a very limited amount of food left in the buffet. We asked when they were going to bring more pizza we were told they were not. The waitress went over and turned the buffet light out. Clearly not enough food for 2 tables of guest. We ate what we could, left unsatisfied. Should of know better as the first time we went there a few months ago we ordered buffet. We ordered pasta dishes. The waitress encouraged us to order buffet, there was pasta there and we would save money. We all looked at the buffet and agreed to the Buffet. The resturant was very busy. By the time we sat down, completed our order went back to the buffet the pasta was all gone. Asked how long before they bring out more. The waitress said there will be no more pasta cooked as they were out. Lesson learned when in Madison do not go to Pizza Hut. Is it the waitress, management I do not know. The food was okay for what I was able to try. This does not mean Madison is bad. Other businesses and People in Madison are very nice...
