Final update: Moved from WI so this will be my final update. They added pizzas to their menu, and restricted access to the off-leash zone to prevent kids from entering. HUGE PLUS. It seems they are constantly listening to feedback and improving with each step. I love this! This place used to be my little escape, but it has grown to be so much more to where too many people know about it. That is a great thing for the business, but I missed how many people used to be here to how many people go here now.
I wish boneyard the best for this business, and I will miss this place. A lot of memories here, a lot of first beers, and a lot of pups my dog has become acquainted with.
Update: main yard is open. Events and food on weekends. This place is somewhere you have to check out. Great environment and caring staff. Stay up to date with their events on their Facebook page. Only thing I would change is some of the people that come here with their kids as if it's a petting zoo. But that's out of the business control, and I always enjoy my time here.
I love it here. The environment is nice and the employees are friendly. The only downsides for me would have to be the main area being closed for as long as it has been. Last weekend was beyond busy with all tables and chairs filled. This was still not enough to open the main area as their focus on growing the grass is a priority. This is not a deal breaker entirely, but it was enough to keep me away that day. Also, it's not entirely consistent when I am there. Went for pizza and beer and found out once we got there and admission fee paid that pizza wasn't happening due to their vendor. Unfortunate, and ended up leaving early because I came with an empty stomach.
Also, chef ken is amazing!! Unfortunately, you won't always get him there and especially not on Sundays. There are consistency issues that I have with this place but overall my experience has been good enough to justify recommending it to...
Read moreOur first time there started well, but turned horrible. Having a bar and food truck there is nice and both an indoor and outdoor area for dogs. Drinks are a little pricey & there's very limited parking. In the outside area our dog met a few others. Shortly after we stepped away and one of those few dogs that ours met came up and attacked our dog out of nowhere. We exchanged contact info and rushed to the vet. Other people there were well aware and saw the incident and offered help. Leaving the venue Boneyard staff asked if we're okay and that's it. They didn't ask me more details and we hope they talked to the owners of the dog that hurt ours but we don't know any of this info. All people take responsibility for incidents but the waiver lists "aggressive dogs will be asked to leave, whether they are aggressive toward people or dogs", so the dog that bit ours shouldn't be allowed back here for a period of time or at all. I think there should be more monitoring on this type...
Read moreI. Love. The Boneyard. If I could spend every day here I would. I jokingly told my partner that if my job ever laid me off, I’d be ok because I’d apply to work at The Boneyard and I would thrive amongst the doggies.
Real talk I heard about this Biergarten from my cousin who made me promise I’d take her. Well she hasn’t gone yet, but suddenly I’m a regular and have an annual pass for my fur baby. We love the atmosphere and the booze selection, but where the Boneyard really thrives is the people. I’ve never felt more welcomed. Everyone loves to chat and be friendly and we leave each day learning something new about Madison/Dogs/fun random facts- it’s so great.
My dog would tell you it’s a 10/10 petting situation. You’ll see her walking amongst the tables and chairs smiling and wagging her tail until someone gives her the proper pets she deserves. It’s safe to say she loves it too.
Thanks Boneyard!...
