Hobby Lobby — Local services in Madison

I wanted a picture framed so I brought in my large canvas. I was given a price for a frame I liked and told 2 weeks, okay great. I get a call saying the frame I picked out doesn't work for large canvases, okay fine I came in and picked out a different one. I get a call on the date it's supposed to be done saying they had sent the wrong size its gonna be another week. I get a call 6 days later saying that its ready but they asked which side was the top of the painting. I had marked it on the canvas and it was written on the initial receipt. They had the hanging wire upside down and were going to change it by the time I picked it up in an hour. I got there and It wasn't ready. It was wrapped up and ready to go upside down. And I had to wait 30 min while they fixed it and while someone from loss prevention stood there staring at me apparently to make sure I didn't steal anything? They brought out the canvas and one of the metal brackets was sticking out! They would have to remove the backing to fix it and I was done waiting so I payed full price and left! I not coming back and I wouldn't be surprised If you go out of business if that's how you treat paying customers. I've never stolen anything in my life! But I did spend a lot of money on art supplies for that painting. At least they called me to tell me what was going on. Don't get anything...

If you want beautiful, inexpensive mass produced home decor, this is the place for you! I walked in with 26 minutes to shop. They had 2 rows of stuff marked 80% off!!! I wasted a ton of time pouring over all the goodies and found quite a few wood and metal baskets and trays and other things that I didn't know that I needed. Mirrors were 50% off, and I had scoped out a few online, but couldn't make a decision. However, I found what I was truly looking for: a gorgeous tin (aluminum) piece to use as the backsplash above our range. With the 40% off coupon, it came to $24! My contractor was quite impressed! Beyond the selection, the staff were incredibly nice. They brought me a cart when they saw me struggling with my overstuffed basket and others went out of their way to be nice and make conversation. I would become a hoarder if I lived closer, but it's a great spot to visit occasionally. I didn't even have time to pick up some new craft project supplies to sit discarded on my shelves at home, but this place has those covered too. (My only beef: it's July. Why do they they have Christmas decorations out...

Love, love, love this store and everything they have. However, watch out for the way they price and the signs. It can be very misleading. Also, if you notice they have your item on sale next week... No problem, just bring back your receipt with every item you purchased that you want the difference for & get a credit. I have never had to bring back every item as well as the receipt. Obviously it was purchased! You can see it on the receipt. Why the need to bring in the 100 lb mirror that took several people to get it in my vehicle! Hobby Lobby seriously! Think about older people who often need help with heavy things & bring people with them to help. Think about people who have had surgery and can't lift over 10 lbs. I think this is something you have put in place so people can not take advantage of the sale prices. You are the only store that I know of that does...
