Sol Azteca Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Madisonville

We were on our way back from another restaurant in the area (that I was not fully satisfied with) and I was still hungry and had a hankering for guacamole and chips! My husband went in this restaurant that didn't look like much on the outside and got me the biggest guacamole they had and some warm chips. Salsa was also added (thank you) free of charge. They had the best guacamole I've ever had from a Mexican restaurant and the salsa was excellent as well! If we're ever in these parts again we will definitely stop in for a complete dinner. If the salsa and guacamole are any indication of how good the food is, we are in for a treat. Edit: we came here for dinner and it was awesome! I had chicken and chorizo fajitas with melted cheese. They were perfectly cooked, lean and Flavorful. The rice and beans were also very good and not just basic. And while most don’t care - the water here is great! Not just tap water but actually filtered. I highly recommend this place. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had with an extensive menu selection. And while our waiter was Not super friendly, he was quick, correct...

Customer service is terrible!!!! I've been a waitress and I understand it gets rough at times..... but when the place isnt busy, (literally four tables had people at them!) I don't understand how the waitress/ waiter can't come check in on their table from time to time! This will be our last visit here. We've given this restaurant several chances to give us a better experience...... all attempts have ended in disappointment! Waited for 40 mins for a bill and for a to go cup/box.... I ended up getting up and going to the register to wait another 5 minutes before anyone helped me! I just left my food and drink, which I hate to waist...... I did not leave a tip this time, which I never do! I understand how important tips are for servers and I also understand that they have to work for tips!...

I heard that the food here was really good, but I did NOT enjoy my visit. I do not like any kind of peppers, especially hot peppers. I love Mexican food but, of all the different restaurants that I've been in, I have never have peppers on my plate. I know a lot of people that eat Mexican food does like peppers but, a lot of people does NOT. The peppers on my plate and messed up a great time. I didn't have time to wait for them to fix me another plate because, I had to be somewhere I less than 30 minutes and it took and hour to get my first plate. All I'm saying is please ask before putting peppers on someone's plate. Maybe my next trip will be different cause I...
