Update 06/2025: This appears to me to still be the consistently worst McDonald's that I have ever been to in my 40 years on this 🌎. The food is still almost always "messy" when I open the wrapper. Mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, onion & lettuce, barbecue sauce all go --ON the sandwich--, not on the outside of the sandwich bun and/on the wrapper or sandwich box. When I order extra lettuce, I expect more than just the "pinch" of lettuce that one would normally get on a sandwich. I can't count the number of times I've had to go back around through the drive-thru or get out and go in after originally having gone through the drive-thru because items I ordered are wrong or missing from my order. Also, this may just be me but what happened to "customer service"? When I started in the working world as a former McDonald's employee 24 years ago, we were required to greet the customer by saying at minimum a "hello, good morning" etc. Now, sometimes I have to ask for straws for my drinks and ask if I have received all of my order in the Drive-Thru. I'm not asking for five-star service, but the basics are not being provided by McDonald's employees at this location. You may think I'm just complaining by writing this review, which is partially true. My point to writing this review is so if someone actually reads it, it will give them an idea of what to expect if they go to this McDonald's in Mahomet Illinois as I have provided things that they have frequently screwed up in my orders.🤦🤷👎👎
The evening shift crew appears to lack adequate leadership. They seem to be significantly slower providing service and lower quality food during the PM hours. This is consistently the worst McDonald's I've ever been to with regard to service and quality of food in...
Read moreMcDonald’s is one of those places that almost everyone has a story about—good or bad. You know what you’re getting: quick food, familiar taste, and the golden arches that promise consistency from Indianapolis to Istanbul. That’s the real magic—predictability. The fries hit the same salty-sweet note every time, the burgers taste like your childhood, and the Coke somehow feels extra carbonated, like it’s straight from the factory of refreshment.
That said, it’s not exactly health food, and no one’s pretending it is. The burgers are more nostalgia than nutrition, and the breakfast menu—while solid—can feel a little heavy after a couple of mornings. Service depends on the crew working that shift; you might get a cheerful “Welcome to McDonald’s!” or someone who’d rather be anywhere else. Still, for the price and speed, it’s hard to complain too much.
McDonald’s has also done a solid job adapting. The mobile app makes ordering painless, the coffee’s surprisingly good, and the newer locations feel more like modern cafés than fast-food joints. It’s not fine dining, but it’s comfort food with Wi-Fi, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need. Consistency may not be glamorous, but in McDonald’s world, it’s...
Read moreThis is possibly the dirtiest McDonald's I've ever seen. Tonight I dined in with my son and we spent the entire meal swatting gnats away from our food. Trash and spilled soda in several places on the floor, and an empty cleaning bucket hanging out by the entrance. Ketchup was stuck to the already dirty table.
Some of the staff have no idea what they're doing. It took them a full 10 minutes to print my receipt, which I only asked for because I was pretty sure they would not get my order right as usual for this place. So I stood there for 10 minutes, got my food, unwrapped it, and through the gnats it looked like my McChicken had been punted 50 yards before they handed it to me. Total mess.
It was one thing after another at this place, which left me baffled, and that's why I took the time to leave a review of a fast food place, which I wouldn't usually do.
Overall this place falls far, far short of McDonald's standards and clearly needs better leadership or their franchise...
