I recently dined at Al Bawadi with my wife, brother and sister-in-law, and unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected.
From the moment we walked in, the service was unprofessional. The manager who was at the front didn't bother to greet us or even say a word—just used hand gestures to confirm the number of seats we needed, which felt impersonal and rude. Things only went downhill from there.
First, we were seated at a dirty table with crumbs and water on the seat, making us uncomfortable right from the start. The waitress, a blonde woman whose name I didn’t catch, was not only inattentive but also dismissive of her numerous mistakes throughout the evening.
She managed to mix up our order with another table’s, leaving us with dishes we didn’t order. To make matters worse, she forgot one of our drinks entirely, and when she finally brought it, she accidentally dropped a glass near our feet, could have caused serious injury. Despite all this, the waitress continued to act as though these mistakes were no big deal.
Towards the end of the meal she knocked over my brother in laws drink on the table and when we expressed our frustration to her she said “this is a restaurant" as if we should be ok with bad service. Her dismissive attitude was frustrating, especially when she we watched her discussing handing over our table to another waitress. We didn’t see her for the rest of the night but the other waitress was at least competent.
To top it all off, the new waitress she didn’t even notice that there was a fourth person at our table—my sister-in-law—whose plate wasn’t cleared until we had to ask. It felt like we were invisible to the staff, and it ruined what should have been a pleasant family dinner.
Overall, the service was shockingly poor, with a lack of attention to detail and basic customer service. I rarely leave negative reviews especially for Muslim owned businesses, but the experience at Al Bawadi was unacceptable. The management seriously needs to address the quality of their staff and service if they hope to retain customers. We left feeling disappointed and disrespected, and I can’t see us returning anytime soon. I also do not know why the Niles location is so different from the Bridgeview location. I’ve never had anything like this...

Read moreFood was ok yet we still tried to enjoy our food, a bit on a pricey side, which was ok, however the service was so disappointing. We had a waitress that was training a newer employee it seems like. Which out waitress herself needed to be properly trained. She did not, even once ever checked up on us to see how everything was or or if we needed anything, when our table were right in front of them where 3 or 4 waitress were hovering together and at one point overheard our waitress said to her trainee to be sweet when she didn't even do any of that with us. That's one thing, then after getting the bill, we were charged 2× of our appetizer which the more experienced waitress took care of and gave us a refund and the 3rd and last thing was when I ordered something to go and was checking online and verified with our waitress if the price were right, she gave me a respond saying it was not correct due to its the old website which I understand but needs to be updated if needs to be but another waitress came up to me and I mentioned that I still would like to order and appetizer to go and verified the price, she gave me a different respond than our waitress... she said yes that's correct so I then proceeded to place my to go order with the new girl and saw her punching in something on their handheld ordering system, so waited for my to go order to come, 15 mins later, nothing and waited a little bit longer and still nothing and since then I haven't seen either one of the waitresses at all and so i decided to ask another waitress to check up on my order then I was told that there was no order put in and they don't know what happened to it, at this point I was really annoyed but was willing to let it go which I did but the other waitresses which followed up on it and talked to the manager I supposed and insisted that they'll put the order in and on the house, which I appreciated but of course we had to wait longer. As a first timer at this restaurant who traveled more than a hour to dine in at this location has me more likely not wanting to go back bor refer to friends just really disappointing...
