Extreamly disappointed. Table of 4 ordered together, first steak dinner came at 634 pm perfectly cooked medium rare. At 640 the server stopped by the table realized there was an issue as non of the other dinners were served As well as multiple beverages were empty and needed refills. 645 the manager came to the table offered to remake the 1st plate so it will come out with the rest offered to comp desert(2 of the 3 deserts were already included in the special they offered)
7 pm the food gets delivered, let's be real the other 3 meals had probably sat under the heat lamp for 20+ minutes now, if not there is no acceptable explanation for the below... at this price range there is NO reason for the below.
The plate of pork chop was dry, the plate of chicken parm was soggy and the 1st ribeye steak was cooked medium at this point and dried as if it was cooked mid well. The remake filet was very rare, obviously rushed it as the other food had been sitting for so long. Like most people it's been an hour I'm not sending it back I'll accept the food as is.
Then the check came with the dessert bill on there, the waitress had to check with the manager on the comp... where is the communication? I don't expect to pay this kind of money for a meal and get a Applebee's level experiance... 1 star
fail on the manager in the follow up, fail on the cooks for thinking its acceptable to allow food to sit under the heat drying out the meat, fail on the server for not intervening or communicating with the manager on the meal/bill follow up. Pictures of the steaks attached. If that food didn't sit under the heat for 20+ minutes and was actually off the grill then I am speechless about the terrible...
Read moreThere are two Harry Caray's in terms of what you'll experience -- the dining room (5 ⭐s) and the covered patio (.5 ⭐).
Dining room experience Attentive and experienced wait staff; climated-controlled and attractive room; food and service comparable with price. Excellent chicken vesuvio and bone-in ribeye.
Covered patio experience Friendly, but inexperienced servers unfamiliar with wine list and basics of dining room-level service; unevenly heated, plastic-windowed enclosure; suitable for informal, casual dining; best bets are kiddie menu items.
I've been to this Harry Caray's location dozens of times because it was a favorite spot for my late father; we even hosted his memorial lunch here. While some of the menu items can be pricey -- $54 for a bone-in ribeye -- they're well worth it and inline with what you'd pay at a good Chicago steakhouse.
Based on past experience, I thought this would be a good place for this year's Thanksgiving dinner with our family. Unfortunately, our 17-person party was seated in a section of the bar's outdoor patio, with outdoor furniture, that had been enclosed; it was similar to sitting in a drafty garage. Instead of dining room servers, we were waited on by a server working in the bar area; she was extremely nice, but unfamiliar with the dining room menus and service items.
After spending $100/adult, I don't think our dining experience was worth what we paid and wouldn't come back again for a special occasion. However, for out-of-town visitors who love the Cubs, want to watch a game in the bar and enjoy it with a cold one, I still think this is a...
Read moreI’ve been here many times so I’ll share some tips It says Italian steakhouse. Pls forget about Italian part and don’t expect anything for pasta (I tried it was ok). Steak is amazing, go for steak! They have specials for lunch sometimes, ask waiter a special menu, sometimes they do sometimes they don’t I haven’t seen desserts on a menu but ask and you might be surprised- it’s good. I tried cheesecake few times - it’s goooood Here says good coffee - it’s not🫣, it’s ok coffee, they have decaf option, but NO plant based milk- it’s ok, but the taste is also ok, cannot tell its a good one They have breakfast since 6 till 9.30 am it’s in the other part of restaurant, not the main one I tried everything with eggs, my opinion and recommendations: Breakfast sandwich- plenty of scrambled eggs inside of croissant and couple pieces of bacon Avocado toast - cannot be substitute for gluten-free bread. Serves with Romanian salad and they have brown bread - perfect combination Skillet is pretty oily but also fine The rest of eggs also is good but egg Benedict - don’t ever eat it here, I’m a fan of this dish and I don’t know what those guys did with topping but it’s awful During breakfast only American coffee- no cappuccino or latte (only in main restaurant) I ordered picked up delivery on them website as well- it was fast and proper way as I asked 👌 Cocktails are good, have tried just couple of them, they have wine in a menu but not a wine card
P.s. during summer they have patio, and it’s super chilly inside of restaurant, so you have to choose coldness or...
