A pretty disappointing meal. We came because my mom had come six months previously for lunch and thought it pretty good and reasonably priced. Clearly a lot has changed in six months. It took us a little over an hour to even get our food. A single water refill was provided during that time. Next, here comes our food. Cold as ice. We ordered the sliders, walleye, and cacio e pepe. How are you going to justify waiting an hour for food. Thatâs ice cold?! Next letâs talk about taste.
Iâll start with the pasta: for the love of God skip it. The pasta was the wrong type of pasta for this dish. Anyone who has had this know itâs supposed to be a pretty cheesy pasta dish. This was watery over cooked noodles without a single discernible flavor. How do you have cacio e Pepe and I can count the amount it âPepeâ in the dish? WHERE IS THE FLAVOR? Topped with chicken. That was an extra six dollars. Unflavored. And dryer than the Sahara. It was inedible; had a few bites and I was simply appalled. See pics.
Next is the walleye and the sliders. Looks very different from the walleye shown by another review 3 weeks ago. See pics. Single piece of mushy fish vs the two crispy pieces seen in other photos. Decent flavor but I donât know if it had been sitting in a freezer for an hour before it was haphazardly dropped off to us, but it was ice cold. Hard to eat cold fish and meat. Difficult to even stomach to be frank.
The garlic knots were ok. Skip the mushy and burnt Brussel sprouts that also somehow are flavorless.
On top of it the service was pretty non existent. Our waitress originally told us we would be comped for the pasta but That turned out not to be the case no stead they did comp us for the appetizers. And we got a single rushed âsorryâ as she tended to guests who probably got at least food that was some semblance of warm.
Just disappointing. And to top it all off it cost thirty dollars like PER PERSON for a truly awful dining experience. Skip it and go literally to any other place; thereâs several right next...
Read moreWORST SERVICE I HAVE LITERALLY EVER RECEIVED AT A RESTAURANT. Just to precursor, I have never walked out of a restaurant, because we weren't helped. My husband and I found Pennyville Station and thought the vibe and menu looked really good. We arrived Saturday around 4:00 PM to find there was plenty of outdoor seating. The restaurant didn't look horribly busy. The hostess sat us down at a high-top table outside that was on display for those inside the restaurant and the indoor bar. A man immediately poured us water.
Therein lies the end of our service. We waited and waited and waited. No one came to offer us drinks or take our order. A group of restaurant employees (bus boys) were standing within 10 ft of our table. They didn't say anything about the fact that we had now been waiting 30 min for even so much as a cocktail.
My husband and I both continued to turn around and look at the hostess stand, which had approx 3 extremely young women standing around, chatting, and doing absolutely nothing. We made eye contact, and yet STILL NO ONE CAME. Everyone on the restaurant staff was looking at us, aware we haven't been helped, and doing absolutely nothing to resolve the situation. After almost another 15 min of waiting, I began to think we were being discriminated against because of our physical appearances: we have a lot of tattoos. Mind you, we were dressed cleanly, nicely, we were polite, but maybe this restaurant isn't in 2020 yet?
Anyways, we finally decided to bring our menus back to the hostess table (because we're not a**holes). The hostess grabbed our menus out of hands with attitude and did not ask us: Why we were leaving Why we were unhappy
She did not even say "have a nice day." FORGET THIS PLACE. IT'S OVERPRICED, SNOBBY, and THEY CLEARLY DON'T...
Read moreIf youâre thinking of doing an event here, avoid it at all costs. The event plannerâs communication is practically nonexistent. She is only in a few days a week with limited hours and is impossible to reach by phone or email. The day of our event, an entree within the contract was forgotten. Once brought to their attention, they did rectify the situation by making it as quickly as possible and serving it. However, the overall wait from when it should have been served to when it was served was long. As we were leaving, we were stopped to be informed that they forgot to add an item to our bill and they needed to charge us again. The wait for this to be resolvedâŚ. Again another long wait. The day of service was just okayâŚnot excellent yet not horrible. Our server was nice. I followed up with the event planner to let her know of our experience and asked for some type of compensation to make up for the inconveniences. She said sheâd ask and get back to me. Never heard from her until 2 weeks later I follow up with her and she tells me sheâll ask again. I should have taken the lack and delay of communication from the event planner as a sign to avoid at all costs, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt due to positive reviews. Two stars since our guests liked the food. Otherwise they would...
