I booked a painting birthday party for my nine-year old daughter at Bottles and Bottega Park Ridge. For the love of all things holy, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. Where to begin. From the second we walked into the place, the staff – most especially the owner – acted annoyed at our presence. Kind of like we were inconveniencing them for patronizing the business. They were extremely rude and unfriendly from the get go and clearly far more concerned about getting the place ready for an adult class that was supposed to start around the same time. When they found out I brought my younger son (who is 4 and too young to paint) they told us he had to leave the store immediately because of “company policy.” When we asked if we could take him out of the store for the painting part but bring him back just for singing happy birthday to his sister, the owner flatly told us no and said it was like a “movie theater” and we had to pay for a “ticket” for everyone if we wanted him to be present. When my husband merely told her he thought this policy was “silly” she became confrontational and said she did not like the way he was talking to her. We ultimately ended up acquiescing and paying them an additional $50 so that my daughter’s two brothers could be present at the party. All of the above would have been okay except throughout the party, the rest of the time the staff could not have been more horrible with the kids. The woman they assigned to teach the class – who clearly had no experience with children – spent half the party on her phone or standing with her arms crossed and scowling. The owner kept popping in throughout the party simply for the purpose of frowning at us or finding something to take issue with. I have four kids and have been to a lot of kids’ birthday parties, and I can tell you that this was as well behaved as any group of nine-year olds could ever be. But the staff looked at them and treated them as if they were a pack of wild animals. The owner flew into a virtual rage when one of the kids accidentally spilled his water glass and the woman teaching the class acted extremely agitated when the flimsy wire easels (which any adult would have a hard time keeping up) accidentally tipped over. I am usually pretty chill about customer service stuff (I don’t think I have ever written a review like this in my life) but I have never found an establishment like this to be more unreasonable. WITH THE ATTITUDE THEY HAVE, THEY SHOULD NOT BE ADVERTISING THIS AS A PLACE FOR CHILDREN’S PARTIES. I would avoid this place at all costs, but...
Read moreWorst customer service around. I had to call the shop to get something changed because I had accidentally ordered the wrong thing. They were able to switch it in the end for me. BUT that was after I had called the place over 30 times with no answer during business hours and then finally someone started picking up. Asking if it was the air bnb or telling me I had the wrong number and then finally after confronting him for lying and pretending to not be the business and asking for the manager started telling me that the manager wasn’t there, I couldn’t talk to them, and he didn’t know when they’d be back. I asked him his name multiple times and he either wouldn’t answer or hung up on me. I finally got a hold of the person who was there and running the place that day and she said it was her son who was answering the phone. Didn’t apologize for him pretending to be someone else or making me think I had the wrong number, or that he wouldn’t allow me to talk to the manager or supervisor. She never apologized, made me feel like I was in the wrong, then proceeded to tell me he didn’t even work there. So when I asked why he was answering the phone in the first place she couldn’t even answer. Terrible terrible customer service and...
Read moreHORRIBLE OWNER!! My 11 yr old daughter attended a birthday party here today. She has a broken leg and cannot walk. Because of this she uses a medical scooter. We had no issues up until the end of the party when the owner showed up. She berated my daughter because of her scooter and told her that because of her weight and the scooter that she was going to break the tile. She made my daughter get off her scooter and sit down even though we were getting ready to leave. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? It takes a pretty sick and twisted person to speak to a child like that. I was there the entire time. If you have an issue with my child you come talk to me. You don't yell at a child for absolutely no reason and bring them to tears. I am a small business owner and I would NEVER treat a customer the way you treated my daughter. So if you have a disability and require some kind of mobility device to get around avoid this place at all costs. They do not want you in their establishment! As far as I'm concerned these places are a dime a dozen. Go somewhere else where you will be treated with respect.. We were also told by one of the employees that their place is NOT...
