Where is the zero button?!?!?! Idk where to begin! We came in at 5:55am on 4/18/24. My husband ordered a breakfast platter and he asked “does it come with gravy?” She said yes. When the food came, no gravy. Not a big deal, we know that each Whataburger has their own rules on that. He goes to the counter to ask about gravy. All he was told was “sorry, I was wrong and I’m not honoring what I said” I went up to pay for the gravy and couldn’t understand why no one wanted to help him over $1.07? Not give him free gravy, but maybe “I’m sorry sir, I was mistaken but I can take your order for some?” Nope! Just we’re not doing it! Wait……you’re not serving a customer?! A gentleman by the name of “mark” (I’m assuming that was his name, since there was no name tag. And I’m assuming he was the manager on duty due to his pin striped shirt) but that is the name he gave me. He proceeded to start arguing with me saying “it’s whataburger, not me I can’t do anything “ here lies the issues……I DIDNT ASK FOR FREE GRAVY, I JUST WASNT ASKING FOR THE DISRESPECT OF NOT EVEN ASKING IF HE WANTED TO ORDER ANY. THEY JUST SAID NOPE MY BAD IT DOESNT COME WITH IT AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE IT TO YOU. I FINNNNNNNALLLLYYYYYY got his gravy!!! And yes……I paid for it $1.07 AND IM OK WITH THAT! But to treat someone in the manner he did is unacceptable! And then when we are walking out, he is hiding behind a half wall where all you can see his head. Antagonizing us!!!! Saying things like “why are you mad at me, because your husband got mad at you for not ordering gravy!” What??? My HUSBAND made the order!! I said “thats ok, I will be sending a message to the GM Tosha” his response “do whatever you want, I’m not going anywhere “ this is really sad if this store is allowing employees ESPECIALLY managers who are teaching that this behavior is aloud, to treat customers this way!! If he wouldn’t have started off so defensive and ASSUMING we where looking for something free (1.07) then NONE of this would’ve happened! EDIT: Mark the manager did not know that once I left the restaurant I still knew people inside. He proceeded to continue talking loudly about me to everyone calling me a Karen. All because I couldn’t understand why he didn’t offer to order us gravy, not give it to me for free. Let’s make sure that’s clear. I just wanted it to be offered TO PURCHASE. Not just blown off. I did not wanna have to argue with someone to pay what I needed to pay for...
Read moreI don't want to give this Whataburger a negative review, because at the end of the day, this is still a Whataburger, so it can't be that bad, and it isn't, but it doesn't live up to the Whataburger name as much as it could.
For starters, the order taker at the drive-through window didn't completely comprehend our order, and it was clear they didn't. They didn't really repeat it and they didn't give us a total. It was almost like they were unresponsive, as if they didn't hear us, and when we went to pay for it, that was immediately clear. I had a coupon for an entire Whatameal and they discounted the burger, not the whole meal, and I asked them to discount the entire meal, which the person realized that's what the offer was and did as such, but they did not discount the senior drink for my mother.
As we're driving off, I notice the root beer looks really clear, before opening the lid or taking a sip, and yep, after sipping, it tasted incredibly flat. You could probably tell it was flat as it was dispensed by the machine, and I went back and yep, I could tell it was flat in the restaurant. They were busy at the front counter, so I settled for Dr. Pepper and decided to eat it there and by the time we were finished with our meal, the root beer had been replenished (side note: there was a slight smokey aftertaste; not sure if that was Dr. Pepper residue, since I had used the same cup, but I won't take away from it)
The food was phenomenal though. No problems with it whatsoever, which is why I'm not trying to grade too harshly. I never want to see a Whataburger struggle, which is why I'm trying to be as clear as possible, because, while I don't frequent the Malakoff location that much, I would love the service to be...
Read moreBEWARE * (READ ENTIRE REVIEW) This experience was weird from the start. We ordered 4 chicken strip baskets around 6:20 pm on a Thursday evening. The drive thru attendant questioned our decision because they only had 4 chicken strips made at the time. I’ve never been to a fast food restaurant that didn’t want to make food on their menu at dinner time?!? When we pulled up to pay we received more attitude for ordering dinner I suppose …but needed the dinner so waited for it to be made which didn’t take very long but upon arriving home to eat said dinner the gravy was water and inedible. The sweet teas were hot with no ice. This transaction was over $45 so felt it needed to be addressed here publicly so others don’t make the mistake of ordering dinner from this fast food restaurant. They don’t want your business it seems.
I’m editing this review to add that ALL 4 of us became ill after eating this meal I believe they sabotaged our dinner and I think people need to be aware. We were visiting the lake from out of town and staying in a lakehouse nearby like a lot of others do in the area and the public needs to be...
