Fresco's Roast Beef & Seafood — Restaurant in Malden

I Always support small businesses. Especially now during Covid#19. But this instance my 2 seafood platters were overcooked and the food portion was very skimpy for $30ea. I called and mention it to the manager. One thing I don’t accept is a manager to tell me one thing and Not honor it. I specifically asked if they can add a gift card to my online account or send me a gift receipt for future purchase. But the game they like to run is oh no worries I will put it in the system and when you arrive we will take care of you and will give you a replacement orders. If they say a item(s) will be replaced then do that! Don’t waste my time to return to then charge me again. I am posting on here because of the simple fact that I would never do that to any of my clients that’s why I’m still in business. It is unfortunate that your restaurant has lost a repeat client. who has spent lots of money because at one point the food was better and portions were appropriate for $30. You’re not a five-star restaurant you guys are not even a Legal SeaFood category. so for the price you’re charging give me a break. My cousin Denise lived in the area and we were shopping 🛍 that day. She kept mentioning a place that was in her opinion better than legal seafood and I been a frequent customer for over 30 years. The food was splendid the scallops basket was awesome sauce 😋 yummy as all outdoors. I didn't like the fact sauce was placed in my container under my food. My personal preference is sauce or condiments be placed on top of foods because working 💪 in food business the containers could have been fallen off counter behind the partition and you are told by management pick them or even food up and place on plates. Other than that I would say helping of food was worth the trip. They served some fries regular staple with seafood and the onion rings with basket was golden color and oh so yummy 😋.. Now here in Massachusetts I found one place that serves tartar sauce and I don't normally like it because it taste like mayo and that's Kelly's at revere Beach, but now I got fresco to run to they make the same exact or similar to with the pickles and I couldn't get enough. Trust I'm going back to try another seafood or their broiled scallops basket. This is my #1 spots of 2022 to eat at definitely tell everyone to come out here and try this spot. Fresco's DEFINITELY gives Kelly's Roast Beef a run for their money. As a long time area resident (well Eastie, then moved to Everett) with generations of family members eating and standing by Kelly's, I ventured out one day and tried Fresco's and never looked back. I have my whole family hooked on Fresco's now. From the food, portion size, clean modern restaurant, friendly service, everything is amazing. You definitely get what you pay for here. The prices can be a little steep but it is worth every penny. You get large portions that are more than shareable, fresh and always tasty. Their fried seafood is waaaaay better than Kelly's. Kellys went downhill big time ever since they opened up the one in Saugus years ago. Fresco gives you large slabs of real fresh fish, scallops that are huge and never gritty or overly cooked clams. Their roast beef sandwiches are cooked perfectly. I've tried so many items from their menu and I loved them all. Their food is not overly greasy or heavy on your stomach either. The crisp to their fried items is perfect. I never have had any order issues either. They are quick and efficient. The place is always packed. Wish they had delivery though but they dont.
