Today (5/21/2023), my wife and our two children went to this restaurant for lunch. One of my friends suggested this restaurant to us. The quality of the food was very high and it was very tasty. I thank the chef and his colleagues in the kitchen. But food is a part of a restaurant. Another important part of the restaurant is related to the employees who welcome the customers and give them good service in serving food. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this restaurant was not of high quality in the second part. A lady named Lady.R , wanted to take our food order She took our food order. The food was placed on our table very timely and hot. So far everything has been great. But my wife told her that she needs some lemon slices. She said she will bring it now. But she never brought us lemons. After 15 minutes we had to tell her colleague who was a very polite young gentleman and he did it very quickly. This lady asked the tables next to us several times if they needed anything but never asked us. While eating my daughter told this lady that she needed cheese to eat the pasta, she said she would bring it now but never did. So after several minutes my wife had to tell someone else and he brought us cheese.
Several other times, this lady asked the tables next to us if you need anything, and also when giving the check to pay for the food for others, she spoke to them respectfully, but she threw the check on the table for us and left. These are her behaviors was very ugly and unprofessional. If I have such an employee in my business, I will definitely reconsider working with her.
( This is the answer of that lady. I believed in my own writing.)
Hey thanks for the picture you shot of me. That's a great one for the books! I noticed in your profile that you have a few reviews on waitstaff in different places that you like to go. Particularly nasty ones so I guess I can take yours with a big grain of salt. I guess I'll start off by saying I'm sorry that you felt slighted when I forgot your lemons. It was probably a busy time for your server and it was possible that I just accidentally forgot to bring your lemons, isn't it? You asked for them and I promised that I would bring them. I do have a lot on my plate at times when I'm serving and there are a few times that I honestly forget to bring things to tables. It was disappointing, I'm sure, to you to miss out on lemons with your hot meal that came out just as your ordered with me and I'm truly sorry that you feel it was based off what you look like. I often wake up in the middle of the night remembering something that I forgot to bring to a table and for a few minutes I feel guilty in those late hours. But maybe after reading your wonderful and incredibly rude review, I think I'll stop worrying about it. I hope you can come back for a better time and I can make sure that I do not forget a single thing for your meal. I also hope maybe you have some patience and kindness for people in the customer service industry in the future since it appears that...
Read moreDining during COVID can be challenge. It's not just wearing a mask, you have to be aware of social distancing of tables and people even when you are lucky enough to find a good restaurant with outdoor dining. It is also strange for a menu at fine dining restaurant to not be contained in some kind of binding, but we adjust eventually.
We did not feel any of the stress of restrictions at Kristy's - our server, and the manager who stopped by our table to say hello, had good sense of humor (and professionalism) about it all. They even sold masks made by local artists should you have forgotten yours.
Tucked away in the back of Trancas, it was pleasure to enjoy dinner on their socially distanced patio as the sun set, with white table cloth, few glasses of wine and heat lamps to warm the evening breeze. The businesses surrounding the restaurant were all closed, so it was a little more sedate and intimate.
We began our meal with Antipasto Plate, paired with a glass of Veuve Clicquot. They must have just opened the bottle, because it fizzed for quite a bit! The bread was little burned, but it did add a flavor to the cheese and prosciutto. For dinner, Margherita Flatbread and Shrimp Pasta, paired with another Clicquot and Conn Creek Cabernet.
As the portions were generous, we probably could have shared the Flatbread. but they were happy to package the remaining food in a container for us to take.
Fantastic place and experience. Excellent service, great ambiance and food. We look forward to our next visit - hopefully we will be able to dine inside...
Read moreHad a pleasant meal with a buddy last Sunday afternoon at Kristy's. Our service was good, the food was pretty good (I had a chicken sandwich and fries, Dave had a burger and fries).
The problem was when I went to pay. I use Samsung Pay pretty much EVERYWHERE, because I've had multiple instances of my card being ripped off when handed to a third party. So I went inside to the cash register, and there was the credit card terminal with the contactless "Tap-to-Pay" logo. The person who entered the bill then asked me for my card. The terminal was flashing "Please insert card or TAP TO PAY," clearly waiting for me to bring my phone near to it in order to charge my card.
Ms Manager demanded that I give her my credit card. I showed her the flashing card on my phone app, ready to tap the terminal (which was still waiting for me to tap my phone), but she absolutely REFUSED to allow me to use the contactless payment. "We don't do that," she said. No explanation offered. I explained why I used it, I tried to tell her that in today's time of COVID, contactless payment was safer for everyone.... But she simply refused to allow me to tap my phone and DEMANDED that I hand over my credit card.
I eventually gave it to her, of course, but this kind of idiotic anti-customer non-service is annoying and infuriating. This is not a person who should interact with customers.
