Golden Cheung — Restaurant in Manasquan

Ordered for delivery a $65 amount of food being that it is under new ownership and had never ate there.

I was excited to see Pad Thai on the menu and when I got it, it was dry and had a taste of fish. The peanut sauce was sludge and tasteless. The noodles and chicken were not mixed with peanuts and sauce. It was gross and not prepared properly. Ordered Egg Foo Young, it was dry and burnt. Disgusting. If I didn't know any better, I'd say our order was fulfilled by a leftover buffet that had been sitting there for hours. The pork fried rice was dry and overcooked. Ordered sweet and sour pork, got sweet and sour chicken disassembled. Called for correction. Finally, got the sweet and sour pork and it was extremely overdone and unedible. As someone who knows and enjoys Asian food..this resturaunt needs a lot of help.

On a positive note the crab rangoon was delicious along with the roasted pork egg rolls but thats it out of everything ordered.

Needless to say it was a huge disappointment and waste of money. Will not be ordering from here again. Worst Chinese food I have...

The Golden Cheung is not really something to say much about because it is like every other Americanised Chinese Restaurant out there - they serve the foods that Americans expect from a Chinese restaurant with the most obvious of American twists and get on with it. There is one unique item, but it's away from expectations - the "Cheesesteak Spring Roll." Go to here for some cheap Chinese food, but don't expect it to be completely different from one down the road.

Word of advice from a Chinese reviewer, they either speak another language (and not Chinese… sounded Malaysian) or another dialect of Chinese (because it's usually Standard Putonghua [Mandarin Chinese] or Cantonese [Hong Kong or Southern Chinese.]) Their cooking style might differ for better or worse, but the menu doesn't change...

First time to eat there, I gave 4 stars simply because I wasn't blown away by the dish I ordered. 2nd time, I'm changing to 5 stars. Ordered for delivery, got here in under 30 minutes, food was delicious (kept it simple, house special lo me in and general tsaos chicken, hot and sour soup). Best lo mein I've had in a while. Flavor was fantastic, great potions,...
