I've had this place bookmarked for way too long. When you decide to go here, plan for there to be a wait. A friend and I ended up going at the right time and only had to wait 30 minutes. I've heard it's always around an hour wait time. The shop is small. I'm talking less than 20 tables and there's no outdoor seating. And all of the employees were super friendly and personable towards us.
Once we were seated, they gave us waters with lemons right away. Now, I don't like lemon in my water, or even if it's just sitting on the rim. Please stop assuming everyone wants a lemon in their water. We took a look at the menu and everything looked delicious. It was hard to decide but we ultimately ended up deciding on burgers.. that's really the reason we came. I should mention that there are two kids menus. We had to ask for the lunch one, because we were handed the breakfast one. The burgers are double patties. I am assuming this is because they want to push out their burgers quicker than cooking one bigger patty. We ordered our burgers medium hoping they wouldn't be over-cooked since they were thin patties. And I HAD to order the sweet potato waffle fries because how often do you see those on the menu?! We waited maybe 10 minutes for 3 plates of food and everything was cooked PERFECTLY. The thin patties were cooked exactly medium and the fries were just the right amount of crunchy. I was seriously impressed that I didn't have to send the burger back.
TO THE COMMITED PIG OWNERS: I do have some critique for the burger that I ordered. I ordered the Chipotle Bacon Burger. It comes with muenster cheese, bacon chipotle mayo, and an onion ring. Well, to my assumption the bacon part of it is in the chipotle sauce... but I did not taste any bacon. Nor was it even close to spicy like chipotle should be. Please add home made bacon chunks into the dressing, Or add bacon strips on the burger instead of a stupid onion ring. You don't taste the onion ring anyway!
My friend ordered the Steer Herder burger and it was cooked perfectly medium as well. But the burger as a whole lacked flavor. She liked it though to finish it though.
We would both definitely come back here to try more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhy is it called the Committed Pig? I've been hearing a lot of hype about this place for a few years now. Finally made it out last Sunday. There was nothing wrong with the place. Clean, great service, great decor. On to the food. I have to say, being a serious cheeseburger man, that I really don't like the 2 small patties concept. I like my burger Rare and it's very hard to hit specific temps with those small patties. This was no exception. I ordered Rare, of course, and was served Medium. The rest of the folks in my party went with Medium and their meat was cooked through, not beat up and dried out like Well, but no hint of pink like in a Medium Well. Everyone was happy with the fun toppings on the Burgers. We had the special Mac and Cheese as well. It was creamy and had enough sauce, but there was no zip. Very bland. Could have used some seasoning or some Parm or Cheddar. Again, I'm confused by the name of the place. The only pork on the menu was bacon for the burgers, ham on one grilled cheese and some pork roll. No ribs, no pork chop, no pulled pork. Perhaps it should be called the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKnowing that I love burgers, my wife recommended that we have dinner here for my birthday and wow, this place did not disappoint! Everything from the atmosphere, to the lovely staff, to the amazing food was fantastic. The place gave off such a welcoming and sincere vibe that it put us at ease right away. The front desk staff were warm and friendly and our waitress, Trish, was sweet and attentive throughout the evening. But the star was really the food: the burgers are some of the best I've ever had. They really do justice to the Pat LaFrieda meat that they use. The burgers were juicy, well seasoned, and so flavorful! Some places bury their burgers in so many toppings but this place uses them just enough to enhance the burger and not overwhelm the meat. The pickle chips were crispy and cooked perfectly - not greasy or heavy, and the fries are done really well, too. Too many places just phone in the fries but you can tell they leave no item behind here. I can't recommend this place enough! It made for a wonderful birthday...
