This is a pretty cool place! The atmosphere is exceptional with for an outdoor venue. It has 5-6 fire circles with Adirondack chairs all around them! The beer is brewed on premise and they have many a choice to choose from. It’s always cold and fresh. Nothing like their canned products.
We always take our kids because it’s an awesome place to entertain them. There’s a park for the them and a field area for them to run or play ball or whatever as well. There’s also an ice cream truck front and center and bear trailer near by for adults to get their drink on and not have to gather the kids and walk all the way to the bar, which is kind of a hike. So that’s convenient. You can still hear the music from the stage, too. If the kids want to dance, you can walk down and usually find a place at the front to stand. The ice cream truck is phenomenal and the service is friendly. There’s quite a few of unique options as well as a full espresso menu! Which is what I always hit. They offer complimentary water as well.
The only negative part about the kids area is that open space to run? It has a drain in the middle and the turf runs down to it on a hill. Makes it a little unsteady for little ones, but it’s still usable.
There IS FOOD TRUCKS that come and go and that’s where you wanna go for food! The choices are always plentiful and the food is ALWAYS amazing and the service from them always comes with a smile. They all seem to have generous portions compared to the price too, for some reason. But definitely hit the food trucks!
The food at the main bar is “ok”. Nothing really to write home about and not many options to choose from. Not very unique either which seems odd for the venue. If you’re in the kids area, there’s quite a walk back to your space. Which, depending on your order and amount of kids and trays, can be quite challenging. By the time you get notified of your food (which doesn’t always happen, it depends how close you are for reception), go get the food that’s been sitting under a heat lamp, and get back through the crowd, the food is usually cold to lukewarm. Also, considering the amount attention paid to the children’s area, there is not a lot of kid friendly options. Chicken fingers is about it. Which, I know all kids will eat; it just limits the choices to just that.
I’ve mentioned a couple times about the service being good at different areas. The beer trailer is good, the ice cream truck is pretty good, but the food trucks take the cake. The main bar? Man, for some reason the service there feels like what I imagine being in a chow line is like. I always feel like an inconvenience to them. Even the food pick up. There’s no niceties there, ever. It’s like, “what do you want” and “here’s your food, good luck with condiments!” And the condiment counter is usually a wreck. It’s just weird that service is so great elsewhere and lacking so heavily here. Even the bartenders behind the hut bar, although I don’t go there often, are really super cool.
As far as facilities go, most places are usually clean and tidy, minus the condiment stand. Bathrooms are usually clean and free of debris. There isn’t trash strewn about all over the venue. It’s a pretty clean place. Parking is horrible though unless you make it early. The lot definitely cannot handle the volume this place can hold. Once the lot is full, good luck getting parking on the road. Even then you’ve got to walk a half mile to the venue. Not ideal when you have a late reservation at their fine dining establishment on premise (The Black Sheep) and you’re dressed in heels and have to walk that far. Also, get there early if you want seating at the band.
All in all, 4/5 stars. Great atmosphere, pretty good service in the right places, and phenomenal selection of good beers. I suggest skipping the main bar and head to the...
Read moreI'll probably go to this place many times and will update my review periodically. This place has a lot of promise. It's obvious that the planners of this venue put some thought into building a space that would be comfortable for people and encourage them to linger in the area.
I came here on a Friday around 11:45 for potential lunch and investigation with a friend from work. The exterior area has a stage for a live band and there are pre-fab fire pits scattered about for much larger groups. In summer I imagine that they will have those open enabling people to wander in and pickup both refreshments and consumables.
The Farm Brew LIVE was open and serving both beer and food. There is quite a bit of seating inside as well as outside with very large industrial doors separating.
Just had a few tasters of the beers they had on tap and I will definitely have to return for a deeper more thoughtful investigation.
After a quick review of the menu we decided to order a margarita pizza. The pizza was about 10" round, crust was well finished and flavorful. Although we decided that it wasn't quite enough. So ordered a second Luau (ham and pineapple).
Food is pay first and pickup when restaurant pager goes off. They are using cookie sheets for delivery trays to the table and cutlery is all simple plastic forks, knives and small plates. Obviously trying to keep the dish cleaning down as well as planning for open venue during the spring and summer months.
The food was ok and I'll try other selections eventually.
Every server was dressed well and very helpful. They are obviously starting up and want to give the best impression. I hope that level of courtesy continues. It really made for a fun...
Read moreFarm Brew Live is the collection of a few places, but so far it is done very well. Two Silos Brewery is the anchor to campus, but it includes a BBQ joint, a live band stage, a pizzeria, and even a playground. It soon will be expanding to include (I believe) and active still, and varied private/public event spaces. Bottom line, this place rocks (figuratively and literally). There are bars and areas to get drinks throughout, and their system allows you to swipe once for a tab, and keep it going throughout the campus. Just avoid the self serve kiosks, because tabs don't stay open on those. I sampled some of the Two Silos Beer, the Mason Pale Ale, and Country Porter, and they were fantastic. Not overdone, legit brews, with great profiles. The pizza was good, although I regretted not getting the BBQ. The Pit has seemingly awesome food, and the Pork has a unique profile, that was really good. The mac and cheese was on point also. But my favorite part was the beverage accessible playground. Yes, brewery snobs kids are a thing now and this place has totally adapted. There is a small playground, and you can take your beer to it. Although, on recommendation to FB Live. Please consider installing a sunsheild or shade net above the playground, the slide gets wicked hot. The only current thing to pay attention too is the permissable beer zones. You can walk the whole campus witha beer, but it must be done so withsmart navigation. There are signs to guide you, just pay attention. Overall, great place and we...
