Martucci's Flashback Diner — Restaurant in Manchester Township

Did not have a great experience here. Walked in with my four year old who was hungry and giving me a hard time and after about five minutes of waiting to be seated one of the customer's finally told me I could just sit i didn't have to wait. I don't understand why not one person working there didn't have enough common sense to tell me that , I mean anyone with a brain could see I was pretty busy trying to keep my four year old from running around and didn't have time to realize what there whole business set up was. I thought right off the bat that was indecent that not one waiter or waitress would just say hey you guys can sit down any where and they were all looking at me so I don't know what the problem there was but I'll never be back. We sat down and waited a while still, so I got up got my own menu so that when the waitress finally did come I could just order the food of which was extremely over priced and tasteless. I had gotten a Spanish omelette which was made cheap and thin with grits that were ok and a small side of turkey sausage and my son had a Belgium waffle. This diner is located close to where I stay when I come to New Jersey, so we came here for dinner since we had not tried it before. The theming of the diner is super cool. They have a classic diner look and play some classic music. I ordered the cheeseburger and added bacon, and then I got a side of french fries. The cheeseburger came with a side of coleslaw, but I gave it to someone else since I am not crazy about coleslaw. My sister ordered the banana nutella french toast, which comes with a hashbrown. Our server was Angie and she was very nice! She came around the table a couple of times to check on us and make sure we had everything we wanted. The burger was nice and had a charbroiled taste to it. I asked for it to be cooked medium, but it seems to be more like medium well, but it tasted just fine. The french fries were fantastic! I added a little bit of salt and pepper to them and they went really well with ketchup. The banana nutella french toast was absolutely delicious, and it looked as good as it tasted. I recently visited this diner with my girlfriend after getting a recommendation from a customer of mine. I'm a big fan of diners, I'll check out all of them. I've been to a bunch.

We walked in, and while the old school feel was cool, very nostalgic, I was more concerned about the food.

My girlfriend ordered the bisque that I tasted, very good. We both ordered the typical breakfast, I ordered a bacon and cheddar omelet with breakfast potatoes. I don't know how to word this without sounding like Gordon Ramsey, but the breakfast was BLAND. The plates were just warm, and the food tasted like something you would get at a cheap breakfast buffet.

The omelette tasted of almost nothing and the potatoes tasted like a dishwasher.

The egg cream we got was VERY good, they know how to make a proper egg cream!

I would check this out again, see if I can get a better meal at lunch or something. For breakfast I'll choose to stick to Lucille's in Warren Grove.

I really wanted to really like this place. Both of us left........
