I will start by saying me and my girlfriend love this place and as far as the place itself goes it's great, the food is always good the people that work there and for the most part even the customers that eat there are just friendly and it's an all around good place to eat and enjoy a meal. The one thing we like the most about it is the fact that you can get breakfast all day there, -she doesn't like breakfast while I love it- and since she doesn't care for breakfast it's always a problem looking for somewhere to eat (of course). With Emma's we both win, she gets her dinner food/salad and I get breakfast. The servers there have always been awesome, super nice and you get great service! They are always checking on you and refilling your cup basically anything they can do to make it more pleasant. Today we went up there and there was a new girl there (a server) and as usual she got the dinner buffet as it was around 2:00 and I wanted breakfast, the server got our drinks came back sat them down and walked away without a single word as to if I wanted the buffet or would I like to order. My girlfriend gets up to get her food and I'm still sitting there, eventually after my girlfriend comes back and is eating the server comes back (me being patient knowing she must be new was absolutely fine with it) an asked me are you going to be eating? I said well yes I'd like to order something an she says oh ok and without offering a menu pulls out her pad and a pen. Me knowing what I wanted anyways didn't think anything of it once again -new girl- so I started my order by saying I'd like biscuits and gravy, before I got any further she stopped me saying (I don't know if we have any biscuits left let me go check and walked away) when she came back she told me that if they had any they would either be hard as a rock or really soggy. I asked her don't they serve breakfast all day and she said no they do not and I said are you sure because they usually do and it says on the menu that you can get breakfast anytime, she replied no sir and apologized. I then told her okay I'll just go ahead and get the buffet,(while I was getting the buffet she had went and was talking about us to the other server the nicer girl in which case I'm sure she told her they do indeed serve breakfast all day) so I can imagine she was embarrassed but instead of coming and apologizing she completely avoided us during our whole meal, not once checking on us or refilling our now empty drinks and while I was eating my girlfriend already finished eating because she started eating way before I did decides to go pay while I was finishing eating, she asked the lady at the cash register if what she told us was true the lady said no it is not you can get breakfast all day, she said the girl was new and was probably mistaken and then she told the lady that we had clearly asked her if they had stopped serving breakfast all day in which she told us yes they had. So she goes an says something to the girl and I'm sitting close by so I hear the girl tell her that I did not ask about breakfast that I had asked her about biscuits and gravy and that she told me that if they had biscuits that they were going to be hard or soggy straight lied to make it seem like it was my fault. At this point I'm so angry there is no way I could continue to sit there and eat my meal so we decided to get up and leave in the middle of trying to eat, as I'm walking out I decided to stop and clear some things up with the girl (who just sat there with the dumb look on her face like she didn't know what was going on). I'm 35yrs old and that is the worst service I have ever had in my entire life, as long as that girl is still there I will no longer be able to go there and eat in peace because I will refuse any service from her. She really should be fired for the way she treated us and although we did tip her because it felt like the right thing to do she didn't...
Read moreOMG IT IS SO GOOD HERE!!! I didnt know what to expect but Emma's is located off of I 24 exit 110 and my stomach and taste buds are SO happy we stopped!! Emma's is a buffet style all you can eat type place. The food is legit! Hand made everything and not "phoned in" like a lot of other all you can eat buffets. Tonight (Thursday) the menu was a full salad bar including fruit salad, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, baked beans, white beans, ( they have you covered for beans ;) ), boiled cabbage which is excellent, meat loaf, fried chicken (real fried chicken, not something frozen pulled out of a box and thrown into the oven), catfish and corn bread. All the drinks you would think of for a family place. Soft drinks, sweet tea, coffee, milk, unsweetened tea etc. Several types of desert but I didnt save room for any of them. I tried as much as I could, meat loaf, chicken, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, boiled cabbage and white beans. Everything was excellent and my server Rebecca was a pure ball of energy and as nice as can be. In the period of time I was there she waited on me and several other tables, got them all taken care of, bussed all the tables as people left, got everyone their tickets, moved chairs back in and set them up on the tables (it was getting close to closing time) after wiping them down and did all of that with a smile! Whatever they are paying her, PAY HER MORE! SHE IS WORTH IT! Emma's knocked it out of the park on my first visit! I just wish I was a cow so I could eat more! I'm looking forward to coming back! P.S. My bill was less than 10 bucks! An exceptional value at an...
Read moreEmma's Family Restaurant is an unassuming local spot located next to Cracker Barrel and the Hampton Inn. When we see small mom and pop type spots, we jump at the chance to try them.
We have been to Emma's so many times, the price for buffet is amazing, the food on the buffet is always tasty, super flavorful, and it's constantly being checked by staff.
Our favorites here are the fried chicken, catfish, and the mashed potatoes and gravy. They're all packed with flavor and never dry, in our experience. I can't remember the exact pricing, but typically for my husband and I, along with our two children to eat, we pay just over 30 dollars before gratuity. The price is great, and they did used to (not sure if they still do) offer free or discounted meals to certain aged children. There's a nice little variety of food available on the buffet, including a salad bar, and small dessert selection (we recommend the cobbler, just wish they had some vanilla ice cream!)
The interior and exterior are both dated and in need of some work, but there's also charm and nostalgia for us that's associated with restaurants like this. There could be some updated, but overall the building is kept tidy, and that's what matters more than appearances for us.
The staff here is EXCEPTIONAL, very sweet, quick, and efficient. The owners are also exceptional. If you are looking for comfort food, or even a bite that won't break the bank, this is your...
