First time in Manning SC. Some co-workers and I went to a funeral to support another co-worker. Afterward, we wanted somewhere local to eat. A quick Google search, and we are at Gullah Gullah Fish. It is located in what i assume in the downtown area (nice area with comfortable vibes). It did Manning justice! The staff were friendly and treated you like family. They take time and explain things and definitely give their opinion on what you should try (take their advice). They gave us some boiled peanuts because it was our first time in, and that set the tone for a flavorful meal. The Mambo Wings, which we were told was one of their more popular flavors, were great and kind of reminded you of sweet and sour wings. The coleslaw was fresh, my coworker said her collards were delicious, and the fried okra was fried crispy but right. The seafood rice was a perfect blend! The star of the show was the fish. The flavor was exactly what you would want. It was fried somewhat hard but still very good! If you are ever in Manning, give this place a try. They are kind folks cooking up...
Read moreOne word! RUN!!!!!!! If you want some good food and Service? Go somewhere else. Slow. Food, was good hot and seasoned well. Gullah seasoned well fresh or delicious. The Television needs surround sound. From the noise of the fish tank and the oud television, you can't hear yourself think. Tables were a bit sticky and the Floors quite dirty. Half the menu was not available. Not very well organized. Took me 50 minutes to receive my order which was the daily lunch special. Do no be in a hurry. Try seating outside locate on sidewalk might be cleaner. Seems like after 8 years they would provide better service and be better managers of consumer time. I will say one positive thing, my food was hot. Noticed One of the light fixtures on the ceiling had spider webs that could house a massive family. On a scale of 1 to 10 , maybe a 6.5. I Would eat there again if I ordered ahead and had someone else pick it up for me. Ladies who work there are really pleasant and helpful. It's not a hige place but if your in town it's a great place...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful place! It is mostly takeout, and the later you wait the less choices you have, but everything is fresh made, high quality, portions are perfect and it is all seasoned to perfection. They do have inside dining for couples and small groups. I had the shrimp platter with Cole slaw and deep fried corn on the cob. The shrimp were fresh and freshly battered in house, not frozen and poured out of a bag. The sauce served with them was sweet, tangy and had a bit of a bite but nothing too spicy for more sensitive palates. The Cole slaw was vinegar based, coarsely chopped and perfect! My companion had the last of the catfish stew in the pot and they threw in some steamed shrimp for good measure. With it he had Gullah rice and deep fried corn as well. The stew was tomato based and very hearty, with lots of big chunks, served over the rice, and very very delicious. As a treat we were given a sample of their Gullah bites as well. One of the best meals I have eaten in...
