If you love rude owners and cold buffets this is definitely for you!
If you’re looking a restaurant in Manning SC where you’ll be ignored for 45 minutes, served cold buffet food, and then talked down to by the owner, look no further than Mill St. Grill. This place truly sets the gold standard for how not to run a restaurant.
The salad bar was actually frozen, which was a nice touch — I didn’t know iceberg lettuce could shatter. The meatballs were cold, spaghetti lukewarm, and the dessert selection looked like it had been through a heatwave and a blizzard.
the highlight of the night was the owner’s exceptional attitude. I politely mentioned an issue with our food and was met with a level of hostility usually reserved for street fights. It’s rare to find a business owner so passionate about defending poor service really impressive!
The sticky floors and overall lack of cleanliness added a cozy charm to the dining experience, especially when you can hear your own shoes peeling off the floor as you walk to the buffet.
Honestly, if you’re in Manning and wondering where not to eat, I’d recommend Mill St. Grill for the experience alone. It’s the kind of place you visit once — and never again.
Pro tip: If you’re planning a wedding or big event, maybe go with a place where the food is hot, the staff wear gloves, and the tablecloths aren’t wrinkled straight out of a...
Read moreI will NEVER eat here. I seen the video on Instagram showomg the owner being unprofessional and trying to belittle a couple. Claiming they were going to leave without paying BUT, thats wasn't the case. The lady stated they didn't want to pay for pork chops they didn't eat because they were fried too hard. They got something else and the hard/over cooked pork chops were taken away. I have worked in several restaurants and bars and the management never thought twice about taking uneaten food off a bill that was over cooked or under cooked. Could be the owner doesn't know what good food is so that could be the problem. That was so uncalled for though. Even if these are regulars (which they are not, if u watch the video u will know that) who do things like this everytime they come but, that wasn't the way to handle it. There are other was. Kindly take the pork chops off, then talk to them about how they seem unhappy everytime they dine there and come to a understanding that maybe your restaurant just isn't a place for them since they are unhappy everytime they come. Apologize regardless of your personal feelings and move on....

The clams were a little dried out and the steam shrimp were tasteless. But the shrimp and sausage sauce to go over the grits were excellent!!!! My family all had menu items which were very good. I got a Long Island Ice Tea which was not good at all, but I made the best of it( got a small coke to chase all the gin that was in the glass). My daughter's was sent back. It was remade by out waiter( I think they should let him bartend also(ijs). The live music was on point had my kids and I singing ( we love country music) Mr Duffy( I hope I got it right ) was awesome. I will be back when he is in in the building..
