I had not been here in a few years due to a negative experience. Upon the closure of a nearby pizzeria (Vale’s, I miss that place) I decided to give Frank’s another try. Big mistake and I’ll elaborate further.
They are still doing the practice of charging customers a fee for using a credit card. You’d miss is at the entrance if you weren’t looking for it amongst all the other advertisements posted there. Why is it that another local pizzeria not too far away doesn’t penalize customers for using a credit card? Credit card fees are a cost of doing business like labor, utilities, etc…We are becoming a cashless society. I don’t carry cash and I still get charged the fee using a debit card with no points benefits that I do using a credit card.
This business has a right to run their business anyway they wish, just as I have a right to take my business elsewhere. I was told it was not them charging the fee as somehow they were trying to defend it. Anyways, I could deal with this if the food was good, but it wasn’t, so let’s review it.
On a side note: ordering from slice.com or the slice app adds an additional fee
The pizza was overdone and tasteless. The meatball parmigiana sub was small and also tasteless. I took a bite and asked my wife to tell me if this meatball was made from scratch or pre-packaged. My wife who comes from a family of Italian cooks said that it seemed made from scratch but they added too much plain breadcrumbs and it was likely missing cheese. I assume they used plain breadcrumb instead of seasoned ones to save money. Either that or they didn’t use enough. These meatballs were bland and had no flavor. (on a side note, why can’t any pizzeria make a decent meatball. With so few ingredients, it’s puzzling how so many people get it wrong) The tomato sauce tasted like it came out of a jar at the supermarket. Who is cooking the food here?
Sorry, but this was the last time at Frank’s. Never again.
Cue the response from the owner stating that they are sorry for the bad experience and this will help...
Read moreMy family and I prefer lightly baked pizza especially for the little kids. We placed our order with Franks in Mansfield specifically requesting lightly baked explaining children would be eating it and needed it to be soft enough. My sister drove 20 minutes each way to pick up the pizza and brought it over with her as a favor. All the kids were waiting to eat and it was just to find the pizza was burnt on the bottom. Completely annoyed and disappointed, I called and requested to speak with the manager, Leo apologized and told me that he would credit us for the full amount and to just let his staff know when I came back. I asked him if he needed to write down my information but he said no and that he would remember. Today we placed an order, when my husband went to pay with the credit, (the original receipt with my notes) he was told by Leo who promised me a full refund on the burnt pizza, that he would only credit us $15. Not only did he not keep his word, the Panini‘s we ordered were very salty and tasteless, Penne vodka tasted like a basic pink sauce, nothing special about it and a side salad already had some sort of salad dressing on one piece of lettuce which only tells me it could’ve been a leftover!!!. Never again. Two strikes...
Read moreBeen going here regularly for years, ordered online through Slice. When I went to pick up my order, I was told they didn't have an order for me and the address didn't line up, it must be the other Franks nearby. After trying to find the correct Franks I ordered from, I compared it to my other previous orders, it was the exact same place as always.
Went back in to explain this is the right spot, was interrupted by the employee so he could tell me I was wrong when trying to explain. Had to tell the guy behind the counter to stop interrupting and let me explain, he finally listened and only double checked after 2 separate visits and 10 minutes of arguing. Turned out they had my order in the system the whole time but missed it. Had to then wait to cook my food.
I get missing an order that comes through, it happens. But to not listen to the customer, dismiss them quickly and end up being wrong is a problem. Its been my favorite pizza in town, but going to start trying others in the area in hopes of replacing after...
