First time going there was tonight, my husband and I were at a job site and needed to eat something but what? We just weren't feeling anything to but then I seen The Taphouse Grille (and said 🤔 never been there yet!) so we decided this was dinner tonight!! (I'm usually making a huge dinner every night so when it's take ur loving, beautiful wife out to dinner night I'm already ready lol!) So we had a nice quiet table in the back area which was great and quiet and not pitch black but not blinding lol unfortunately my husband had to run to the clients home so we could get the stuff he left outside into the inside bc rain was calling for 6pm (now it's 6:40 and I'm still waiting for this rain 🤔!) so we ran quick got the stuff insode and then raced back over to Taphouse.... As we sat down our appetizer came out (potato skins that were not bad but the items used were like in my opinion just a tad weird but they were good still! I opted for the chicken stir fry with rice and OMG it was delicious 🤤 😋 my husband chose the Cubano sandwich which in his words " it's not terrible" so there ya have it! The staff was all super friendly and helpful. They didn't get annoyed with me and my jokes and yapping away to them bc apparently that's what I do lol! But seriously they had good sense of humors even after I thought our waitress said hello I'm hammer ur server today .... She will forever now be known as hammer the happy waitress lol!! Oh and She never did say her name was hammer, no it's prettier (Cameron I 🤔 think!) whatever thank u hammer and all the rest of the staff we had a great first time and most certainly will be back...
Read moreWent on Sunday with my wife. Ordered oysters, Taphouse Steak Frites, and the Drunken Chicken Parm special. Also got some beers on tap.
Service was excellent and attentive, no complaints there. Beers were good too, and there was a nice selection.
Oysters were decent, especially for the price. Unfortunately my unlucky wife kept getting bits of shell in her mouth when she tried to eat them. Maybe it was bad luck or a bad shuck. The cocktail sauce and mignonette sauce, while good, were served without the little spoons needed to serve the sauce. I ended up using my butter knife.
The Steak Frites dish was underwhelming. Steak was just OK and needed salt. Asked for medium rare but was cooked rare, not a big deal but noticeable. Also would've been nice if we got a steak knife to cut it instead of the serrated butter knife at the table. Was served in a plate-bowl which made it difficult to cut. It was also served with a sliced-in-half cooked tomato that we could've done without, and in my opinion, should been replaced with some other vegetable. For the price, the dish was lackluster.
Drunken chicken parm special should be added to the main menu. It was very good.
I saw a response from the establishment on another review that they are under new ownership/management and transitioning, so hopefully this...
Read moreFirst the chef we had tonight must have been on drugs because the #tgwings I had were bland and not rolled in the topping I ordered. They just laid there telling me "I died so you can feed" and frankly if you are a chef in a Mod Restaurant you should honor the food you serve. This plate was disrespected in a big way. My partner had the Eggplant appetizer which was tasty she said but it had FETA cheese in it which had no place on the plate. My order also had a slice of bacon so whomever this chef is he's a total scatterbrain.
Then I ordered a draft beer and it was strong and I liked it but the bartenders, there were 2 on duty tonight, were inattentive. The older one didn't notice me for 5 whole minutes and I was sitting at the bar. He was busy talking to a regular.
I read other people's reviews of the menu where they called it "creative". I call it a mess. If a restaurant is going to put a description on a menu then they should stick to that menu.
I would fire the chef & hire bartenders who gave a damn about all their customers and not just the regulars. "cheers" this place is NOT. Never...
