Helados Handcrafted Ice Cream and Pops — Restaurant in Mansfield

Been there three times now. Went with wife and did carry out ice cream. Ice cream was ok but definitely WAY overpriced. Second time dine in w/ a friend. Birria tacos. Not traditional but good enough to go back for them. Took wife 3rd time on 4th of July. NO ONE else in the place but us. Lady who makes the tacos wasn't there, other employees don't know how to make them. So we ordered nachos and 2 cans of coke. 26 dollars! So we sat down at a table and waited... and waited... and waited. 19 minutes later....WORST NACHOS ON THE PLANET! Meat on top looked 3 days old -at least- and it was 75 percent fat and gristle. My wife took one bite and was immediately grossed out. She never took another bite. I tried to pick out and eat around the fat but it was impossible. I asked for some TO GO containers because at this point I was mad and didn't want to go off on an employee. We got home and I tried to pick off the fat and gristle but it just wasn't worth it. 26 dollars worth of food went in the trash. I tried to call the owner multiple times but they never answer. I left a couple messages on the voice-mail but never got a call back. Go there with your wallet full.... ice cream is ok. Go to the local gas station for nachos. In the photos, that light brown and white stuff in the meat... that's fat. And I had already removed most of it and fed...

So I was craving an elote today and googled "elotes near me" and Helados came up, which I had already passed by them and made a mental note that I wanted to try them. But now I Google and find out they have elotes?! And a drive thru so I dont need to get out of the comfort of my car?? Score! So I drive over there, the menu looks so good so I decided to get chocolate bananas with pecans and churros as well!! Now I am from El paso Texas, bordertown to Mexico so these things are staples to my childhood and I'm also very picky about! Lol But let me tell you elote was delicious! Sweet good flavored corn, generous toppings and they actually have the homemade chile!! Not just valentina! Chocolate covered banana with pecans was refreshing and delicious after my elote! Churro was delicious as well, crispy nice and fried on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. Not hard or old tasting which I've had from other places. Very satisfied with all the items I purchased! And the girl in the drive thru was very nice, quick and attentive and made sure to ask if there was anything else I needed and made sure I had lots of Chile on my elote! Lol

I love the mangoanadas and the churros my son and I often come to get one or the other after my Thursday practices and we don’t live close. The people that work there needs to be trained in customer service and greeting customers when they walk in. I walked in today and the girl with the taper didn’t greet or even acknowledge or make eye contact or ask what I wanted and I was the only one that was inside and she was slouched over at the register. She just turned her head and looked at the other employee then was on her phone laughing. So I tried to resist saying something so I just turned to look at the menu, Then another girl comes to the register when I turn ready to order and she just stares waiting for me to say something rather than hi how can I help you. I got the tacos for the first time and they were so good. I have only experienced one girl who demonstrated great customer service a few months ago but I have only seen her once and I wish I knew her name. But please train them in manners and customer service or hire new people. Without great customer service itll never be a 5 star and I won’t be back for awhile. Food 5 star but...
