The Dairy Queen near us closed recently, it was Mother’s Day weekend and my husband wanted to surprise me with a blizzard after a nice dinner. We decided to go inside so that we could take our time looking at the menu. We both decided on the mixing bowl blizzard, described as having brownie batter and cookie dough. In the picture, this blizzard is a very dark brown because of the brownie batter indicating it is very chocolatey. When they were finished, the young woman approached my husband in the dining room, flipped them upside down, and pushed them toward him, resulting in ice cream, getting all over both of his hands. We thought this was quite rude. Both of our blizzards were white. He said he would eat his anyway, but I went to ask for mine to be made to the description that I based my order on. She went on an explanation of how they probably didn’t mix it well and the dark part is probably at the bottom. I stirred it and found nothing. She agreed to remake it, when this one was handed to me, it was a very, very faint, pale tan indicating they had added Maybe a teaspoon of chocolate sauce, but there was no trace of brownie batter anywhere. I asked her if they had run out of brownie batter and she seemed offended. Truly rude at this point. I threw it away and we left. Nobody needs ice cream. It is a treat, usually attach to a date, family outing or special event where often memories are made. I would have to say the memories we made this day were not good as they associated with this restaurant, the staff member and this attempt at passing off something that we did not order. In addition, the restaurant was so frigid cold that we watched an older couple get frustrated and leave because they were so uncomfortable. I received no response from...
Read moreBefore I joined traffic on the long, slow commute home I decided to stop by DQ and get a delicious turtle pecan cluster blizzard. Medium. Truly, one of the tastiest treats ever made. I get in the drive-through and had sat at the speaker box for a while before an employee motion me to drive forward. I assume it was broken. OK. I placed my order and before I was even Handed back my debit card the employee was given a blizzard. The employee even seem to be amazed at the speed at which it had been made. He handed me the blizzard and my card, and I begin to drive off. As I began to take my first couple of bites I noticed that this blizzard did not look like it was freshly made. This explained why I received it so fast. This blizzard had been sitting in a freezer it looked like. Not the greatest texture, but it will suffice. As I began eating it I became frustrated because it barely had any pecans in it. Hardly any at all. It was almost as if a couple had accidentally fallen into it. On top of that, there wasn’t chocolate to speak of. It was basically a vanilla blizzard with a couple of drops of chocolate and a couple of pecans thrown in. In addition to it looking and somewhat tasting like it has been sitting in a cooler for a couple of hours. Has always had issues with the...
Read moreOh my gosh !!!!!!!!! What happened to this place. We travel 17 miles to eat at this establishment - for years. ALWAYS GREAT. Even the week before last it was awesome. Tonight (7:00pm on May 8, 2013) it was HORRIBLE. Food was nasty. Gravy looked like it had been watered down - it really was like water. Fries have been changed - aweful. No more purple onions - Shredded lettuce looked like it was a week old. I took the gravy and the burger back. Lost my appetite for sure. I am so upset over this. Worker says that they have a new owner. Guess they won't be raking in much money from now on. I say again, this place used to be so great. Our family could always count on a great meal. Will probably not go back now. Why mess with a great place to eat???? If the new owner wants to keep the store open, they need to go back to the way it used to be. Should have known something was amiss, usally LOTS of cars in lot...not tonight. Now I know why. On the other hand - manager on duty was awesome. Refunded cost of "burger" and fries. Too bad they won't be getting our business again. When you go back to the way you were....
