Wow.... is all i can say.
As a general manager of my own restaurant i was CRAZY disappointed in service, staff, and who i assume was the manager.
The bartender was very nice, but when you are "short-staffed" in the kitchen you let your customers know. We waited an hour for some fish and steak sandwiches that had all came out cold on top of it. I read the reviews for this place which was okay and we decided to give it a shot, being out of towners. After the first half hour we were over it we even heard other people complaining about the wait and that is when we learned there was only 2 cooks working. When i walked to the bathroom, you can see into the kitchen alley and it was completely disorganized. Not a view you want your customers to see by any means. There were dirty tables EVERYWHERE with no concern to clean them. PERSONALLY, when my kitchen is behind, I jump back and help them because thats your job as a manager. There was absolutely no concern that everything was backed up, no table touches, no visit from a manager checking if everything was okay. I heard the same server say to atleast 3 tables that it would be a minute cause everything was dirty and needed cleaned up even though dining seating was scarce. You couldn't pay me to come back. But then on top of everything, i would never take all of that out on the bartender. UNTIL they did something wrong. Which in MY opinion was coming up to my group and saying, "im pretty sure i forgot to ring some stuff up" as in a way to coerce us to leave big tips. My check was correct, but as a manager i dont believe in stealing from your business for tips is ever appropriate. Its not yours to give away, so for the first time in years i left 10%. Ill never go back there and was so disappointed. But it gave me a lot to focus on at my own restaurant, ...
Read moreI am sad to post this because my husband and I usually frequent this Old Bag. Our service and attention was terrible this last time. We had a new waitress (which i understand and we were absolutely patient with). I had waited for 20 minutes in the booth before the rest of my family arrived, not one person stopped to ask if i wanted a drink. Finally my family arrived, and even then 10-15 minutes later still no one asked. My sister had to go ask someone to help us. Our drink orders were wrong 3 times, and the waitress had no clue what michelob ultra was and if they even served it. Our meals were wrong and our bill was wrong (which she stated she believed she had made a mistake, with no effort to fix them). We had to ask a fellow server to help us because our waitress showed up just to quickly disappear with no return to ask if we needed anything else or to fix anything that was wrong. Not once were we given refills on our drinks. Even better, who we assumed was the manager that night walked around our entire section, helped to deliver food, and asked EVERYONE else if everything was ok and if she could get them anything else, but our table was the only one not stopped at. Deliberately i assume. Better yet, for the table next to us, they had the same waitress who delivered their debit card after paying to a completely different and wrong table!! They alone had waited 20 minutes just to check out. The food was great, as usual, but the service i was extremely dissapointed in. Like i said, we eat there a lot, but i can't say i will be...
Read moreWe recently hosted our post-season after party for Ohio Social Sports' Sand Volleyball League at Old Bag and the experience exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. Our waitress, Kim, deserves special recognition for her outstanding hospitality. Despite it being her day off, Kim came in with a smile, a positive attitude, and provided attentive service throughout the evening. Her dedication truly made our gathering memorable.
I must also commend the manager, Amie who went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success. Despite facing challenges with staffing shortages in the days leading up to our party, Amie handled everything with professionalism and grace. She personally ensured that every detail was taken care of, from menu arrangements to accommodating our specific requests. Amie's friendly demeanor and proactive approach made us feel welcomed and valued as guests.
The food served was perfectly suited for our group. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers including artichoke dip with chips, fried mushrooms, potato skins, cheese curds, potstickers, and pretzel bites. Each dish was freshly prepared, flavorful, and served promptly.
Overall, our experience at Old Bag of Nails was nothing short of excellent. The combination of great food, exceptional service from Kim and Amie, and a welcoming atmosphere made it the best gathering our company has had to date. We look forward to returning and highly recommend Old Bag of Nails for any event or casual dining experience...
