Was very disappointed with UConn Dairy Bar. Went on a Sunday night, and was quite busy. I have been to a lot of ice cream places and this is one of the worst I’ve been too. Immediately when I went in there was a line of people, in which I thought was too order. Waited there for a couple minutes before I realized it was to pick up. It was very confusing with no employees (who were on their phone) at the register saying anything or other customers. After ordering I go back into the line to wait. The overall system is unorganized. It was also messy, with lots of napkins all over the ground. The employees were not being very efficient, and I saw an employee trying to sneakily steal a bag of chips which were set up near the register and run into the back. The lady at the register was also on her phone when nobody was ordering instead of makings orders which almost 15 people were waiting for. A lot of milkshake orders probably did hold up the line. They also made the orders out of order with people who ordered after me getting theirs first. I had ordered a small cookie dough which was called and an older man took, which I assume he ordered the same thing. They then called for two child size cookie doughs which is not what I ordered but I believe they accidentally made for me. I did not look at the receipt but with the price, I know I did not order that. I had to ask them to remake it which they did. The actual ice cream was fine, pretty typical which was also disappointing. I expected more. There was also a pretty small menu. The portion sizes were honestly really good for the price. I believe the small was around $5 which for what I got was a steal. But honestly I would not visit this place...

This time I went with the Icecream Nachos. What are Icecream Nachos you ask??? Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words so I took one and will let the picture do the talking. Seriously though it's basically a broken waffle cone with 3 scoops and a bunch of toppings plus whipped cream and finished off with a cherry on top. I had a bit of a sugar coma upon eating it but it was well worth it.
If you ever get a chance to come to UConn please do. It's a beautiful campus to walk around. And once you work up an appetite there are so many amazing college food experiences to try. But of course no trip is complete without a stop at the Dairy Bar. Amazing icecream, friendly staff, and the cows are cool too.
