Coming from someone who lives in the Bay Area… I was quite intrigued and satisfied by this meal, and honestly it’s probably one of the best places in Manteca (other than the fact that Silver Chopstick right down the street closed down me sad now).
Hong Kong Restaurant is hands down one of the better restaurants in the area — and their chefs speak Cantonese (by my observation). Their food was really good, and especially taken away by how crisp the salt and pepper chicken was! We also got chow mein and shrimp wontons. The chop suey was a little bland with the meat, but the vegetables were GORGEOUS and yummy and they made up for it honestly. ☺️
They were very nice and accommodating, and constantly checked up on us to make sure we were okay. We definitely left the restaurant with leftovers LOL. Would I come back to this spot...

Their meat was so tough, that myself, my boyfriend, and little cousin couldn't even chew it, not to mention the flavor was super bland. The pork buns were wet on the outside, and so dry on the inside....

His wife is the sweetest thing ever, but sweetest doesn’t get the job done. I had to take a dose of Kaopectate (sorry for tmi) as a result of my last meal there. Emphasis on LAST. I never had that issue with dad’s cooking.
I’m going to stick with Panda Express. No it’s not authentic Chinese food, but at least I don’t have to chase my meal with Kao. And the food is actually better...
