New China — Restaurant in Manteno

I was driving past and figure I'd try the place out. I should have known it would be a bad experience when I was at the counter to place my order. The only adult I saw working, a woman, told what I'm guessing is her son, to ring up my order. The boy started arguing with her, right in front of me. He seemed like he'd rather be anywhere that day more than having to be in that restaurant. I get the order, drive home, and open it up. I had Egg Foo Young and egg rolls. I ate the egg rolls first. They were, no exaggeration, the worst egg rolls I have ever had. It was like eating cardboard. No flavor to them whatsoever compared to egg rolls at other places like China Chef in Bradley. Then I went on to the Egg Foo Young. I have been eating this from various restaurants for decades. I didn't realize it was possible to burn this kind of dish until now. I'm guessing all three patties were burnt because they were the thinnest Egg Foo Young patties I have ever had. The food even had something crunch in it. Best Orange Chicken I have ever had! I live in Chicago but was down in Manteno helping a friend move in when I discovered this little gem. I regularly go to Chinatown in Chicago when I want great Chinese food so when my buddy Goggle map searched Chinese restaurants in Manteno and discovered this little restaurant. We were shocked at how amazing everything we ordered tasted. Very Fresh vegetables, sauces have a savory quality flavor and you can tell they also use fresh cooking oils. Orange Chicken is amazing, sauce has the perfect mix of sweat & sour, the pork fried rice had fresh snow peas, steamed broccoli and pork. So normally I really love the food here, it is delicious! This particular visit though, the pork wontons were very overcooked, so hard that we threw them away. We also ordered 2 pork egg rolls & 1 shrimp, we got 2 bags of egg rolls & they were all marked pork. I called to see if we could get any type of credit written down for when we order again & the man said he doesn’t run that part of the business & he couldn’t guarantee even if I brought the food back right then that I’d get the food replaced because they’re very busy.
