Copelands Route 50 north bar — Restaurant in Manteno

First off, there is some confusion here, there are 2 Copelands. One is on main Street in Manteno which has a kitchen and still serves food (part of it formerly Anthonys) the one specific to this address is off of RT 50 Next to the oil change place. With that said, Rt 50 North use to be a great place to patronize. I even worked there years ago and have filled in a few times in the past couple years when they were hard up to get someone to cover a shift. It has always been my go to neighborhood bar. There have been some minimal changes there since the original owner. What I personally have noticed is the bar has not been kept up on like it use to be. The bathrooms use to be the cleanest around which they are no longer. There have been multiple times we (my husband and I) met up with another couple there and they were out of Bacardi. What bar runs out of bacardi????? On those occasions, we finished our 1 beer and left to go somewhere that had bacardi for the person in our group that drinks it. Are you F'n serious??? Again what bar runs out of Bacardi??? They have also very recently made some changes in bartending staff that pissed off a lot of people, including myself. Needless to say we (includes about 10 of us) will no longer patronize this...

Arrived at 6:30PM on a Friday night and was told the kitchen was closed even though their sign stated food until 7:00PM. Ordered two drinks that took a while as the bartender had a hearing problem and the music from the jukebox was very, very loud. We were not made to feel welcome at all. I left a 30% tip but the bartender did not make any effort to acknowledge us when we left. Have to agree with another reviewer. Some of the chairs make you fall forward off of the seat. I didnt go for the chairs though. Good chill atmosphere. Available pool tables and darts, though a 2nd available dart board would have been nice since another group was hogging it with credits on it even when not in use. But all in all, a good small town bar for some beers/drinks with friends....
