I'm giving this amazing place 4 stars because as amazing as it has been my whole life, I have some issues.
I understand as a business, employees reflect your business, a few times I have had weird looks, and I felt slightly uncomfortable about that.
Not only that, but they have messed up a few items in the past, and it has upset a couple of family members, because you want a treat the same as me, and then you open it up and find out it's not what you ordered.
Another issue I have, the staff has had some nasty remarks or comments, some under the breath murmurs, or any quips as they turn their head away, thinking you won't hear them.
I stay quiet, because typically when I am there, there is a big line, and I don't want the attention, but that is frustrating.
Everyone who complains about it being cash only needs to grow up and carry some paper with them. Big deal you need to have a 20 dollar bill to get the family some frozen treats.
But, the positives. This place has been around for so long, I don't even want to think about the history it holds.
Overall the staff is nice, sweet, helpful, and overall keeps a smile on their faces even during rush/booming hours.
The service is quick, they are good with money, and I haven't had any dealbreaking troubles there.
Bad workers come and go, but the Custard Stands.
(See what I did there? đ)
Anyway, bring a 20, get yourself something delectable, and maybe a cone for your kid too.
P.S, it's New Jersey, they are Jimmies....

The portion sizes are generous, whether youâre getting ice cream, a sundae, or something from their hot food menu. You always walk away with a big serving of quality food that doesnât break the bank. Itâs one of those rare places where the prices are still totally reasonable, and the value you get is outstanding.
But the real star here is the soft serve ice cream, hands down, the best around. Creamy, smooth, and full of flavor, itâs exactly what soft serve should be. Whether youâre a vanilla purist or into wild swirls and toppings, every bite is delicious and nostalgic in the best way.
The stand has that old-school charm, and the service is quick and friendly. Itâs the kind of place families return to year after year, especially in the warmer months, for a treat that never disappoints.
If you havenât been yet, make it a summer priority. Maple Shade Custard Stand is everything you want in a neighborhood ice cream spot, great portions, amazing soft serve, and that small-town feel that keeps people...
Read moreWe have been going to Maple Shade Custard Stand for over 25 years love the custard but I am done going there. I went 3/29/23 and the parking lot was full so my 2 daughters ages 17 and 21 got out and I parked the car. My 21 yr old calls me confirming that I did give them a $20 bill which I did because I had to get cash to go there because they do not take credit cards. Well the girl gave her change for $10 the girl working never left the money out until she gave them the change and the girl told them to call the next day she couldnât do anything about it. Next day my daughter called and spoke with the owner and he said the drawer was off by change not $10 that he would look at the cameras and call back the next day but said Iâll give you a $5 gift card and call it even, she said no look at the camera. Well we never heard back and I called left my info and number and as I sit here 48 hours later Iâve heard nothing and I am out over $10. I will not return to the custard stand and move on to Cherryâs!! At least I can use my credit card and if I have a dispute my credit card company can...
