Bleechers Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Maplewood

It was my first time at the bar on Friday 8/20/2021. I’m Asian/Hmong. There was only 1 bartender and she was the only worker in the entire place. I walked around trying to look for another worker or a manager but no other workers to be found. I was standing at the bar and asked to order drinks, the bartender declined me and said that I already had a drink (My nephew next to me ordered us a round of drinks and left). She proceeded to serve everyone else around me and not me, skipping me and walking pass me, serving the people that had been sitting at the bar before we arrived. And, everyone else. I knew she was the only one working so I waited patiently and when she walked towards me, I asked her for some water, she didn’t reply and never brought me any water. I couldn’t order drinks and she didn’t want to serve me any water. Finally, after watching her serve everyone else, she walked to serve the black gentleman that just arrived next to me. She ended up bringing me water when the black gentleman kindly said, give her some water she’s been waiting. This place needs more workers and better service. I’m glad she didn’t serve me because I didn’t have to waste any of my money or tip her. I get that she’s having a rough day but be kind, serve everyone equally! I do not plan on ever returning and will continue to tell everyone I know to not go to this poorly...

We use to go here 3-4 times a week during lunch hour. Last Friday we went back for the first time this year. We had 6 people in our group we all ordered together. It took about 25 min for 5 of use to get our food, the 6th person had to get their food to go BC it still wasn't out by the time we had all ate and paid. So 20 mins after we got our food the last guy still didn't two people in our group ordered the same thing he did. After talking with our waitress about it she informed us its not her fault. Cue crazy drugged out looking cook yelling and getting in his face. He told him this isn't McDonald's, it should never take 45 min for a fish dinner, or take 20 mins after the rest of your group got food to get yours. He caused a huge scene. I enjoy this place. They have karaoke 5 times a week and usually drinks 2 for 1 or double up for $1. The bartenders are on top of things; always busy, but not too busy to make eye contact and give you their full attention while still being friendly. They're bar food is very good; the food prices reasonable. There's always food specials, which is nice. I like the karaoke host. His name is Butch. He's friendly, professional, pleasant and appreciative of all singers. He has a huge selection of songs and a very decent sound system. He's not into the bar politics that so many karaoke hosts are. He doesn't come off as if he's God's gift as many hosts do. Butch does his job and he's fair. The main reason I started going to Bleechers was for the karaoke.
