I attended the opening Beauty & the Beast last night. I have a 3rd grader who attends Ashland and began last summer as a 2nd grader. I have met many of his mentors, teachers, instructors and new friends. I decided to take him on a special date to see the final project from the other side. It was amazing to see these same people transform my favorite love story right before our eyes. It was even better for him to see his teachers play parts that seemed were almost made just for them. Each person was perfect! I have been to some Amazing shows in my travels but this show less then 3 miles from my home will now have a special place in my heart! Read moreOur family went to see "The Wizard of Oz" and it was fantastic! Dorothy sounded and sang just like Judy Garland. My 2 other favorite characters were the witch, whose voice and actions fit the role perfectly, and the scarecrow, who was amazingly limber.
I have never been disappointed by a performance put on by Ashland Productions. I'm so thankful for this local cultural opportunity.
Update: Tonight I saw "Something Rotten," and it was hilarious and musically entertaining. I did not know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very campy, with lots of references to other plays, and lewd remarks and actions. It even included tap dancing, which is a lost art. See it if all of this sounds appealing to you. Great...
