I’ve been coming to this restaurant for about six years now and today I had the most prejudice experience and will not be returning. The woman who was our server was curt and short with my sister and I even when we remained polite. My sister is allergic to cilantro and the curry she ordered did not list if this was an ingredient. As I walk up to the waitress to explain the situation and before I can fully explain she stops me and turns and starts talking to the cook. Thinking she understood me, I return to my seat and my sister and I patiently wait for our food. Approximately eight mins later she returns with our Togo order and not the food I had reordered for my sister. I assumed this was due to the language barrier which is understandable. I explain this to her and she quickly walks away ONCE AGAIN before my sister and I can fully explain the situation to her. Multiple times she did this to us regarding our to go boxes we requested and it’s clear she is losing our patience with us. She dropped the check and as we were waiting for my sister’s order food she stopped by three times to grab the check even though we were still missing our food. The final time she stops by with my sister’s order (we had asked for this togo) she brought her food ready to eat in store. We explained to her that we wished to take this togo and requested two more Togo containers. She curtly states that this is not how we ordered our food and that we cannot leave the table without paying first. Every time I have gone to this restaurant I have paid in the front and my sister and I were the only two patrons in the restaurant. Due to this terrible service I am giving this place two stars. The food was awesome as always, but if you treat BIPOC’s with such prejudice and malice during a pandemic and a financial crisis this business will not last too much longer. I encourage this restaurant to hire more socially aware and less prejudice folks to work as their front of...
Read moreRead moreI personally called in a to-go order with a female employee on June 10th: Boti Kabob (came with Veg. Curry), Chicken Tandoori, and Chicken Makhani. I received all food items (or so I thought) as they were labelled on their respective lids correctly (as seen in attached photos). Upon opening each dish, I noticed that the Chicken Makhani looked to contain meatballs in the sauce. I called the restaurant and spoke with a male employee regarding the incorrect food item. He found my order ticket and said that it was written down as "Malai Kofta." I told him the lid was labelled correctly and that I could send him pictures. He declined any photographic "evidence" to their mistake. He said it was a vegetarian dish but the same sauce as what would come with the Chicken Makhani. He just kept telling me to make sure next time I order "Chicken Makhani." At no point did he apologize for the error (either on the order taker's part or just to apologize for a mistake happening) or offer to make the correct dish for my troubles. How did an employee close the labelled lid onto a to-go container when the words written did not match in the food description/appearance?! I paid over $60 for my order and feel like the restaurant does not want to take responsibility for their own error. I have eaten in your restaurant on a couple of occasions and had no problems with the food ordered or the quality of the food. *Note about takeout food quality-The Chicken Tandoori meat was extremely dry. I took a bite and threw the entire dish away, it was that inedible. *Update: I have emailed the restaurant twice since this instance. I have written the same description and included photos. I have never received a reply of acknowledgement of this error. I will not be giving this establishment any...
The food was delicious! We came on a Thursday night, and it was super quiet. Our group wasn't very familiar with Indian food, so ordering was hard. The menu was at leastv10 pages, so that didn't make it easier. We asked for direction, but the server basically said, "Pick your meat, Indian sauce, and heat level. What would you like?" We needed more details on how the sauce flavors differed, but didn't get that. We ordered coconut sauce and tiki masala, which tasted very similar. I would have liked more coconut flavor in the coconut sauce, but it was DELICIOUS with my lamb meal. I ordered medium heat, which was a perfect kick if you like some heat. (Apparently, the episode in Ted Lasso where he tried food that was crazy hot, scared my friends into ordering mild. All of them said they would order medium next time.) Taj Mahal is a tasty lager that paired well with the meal and flavors. As a group, we ordered multiple appetizers to help explore more flavors. The mint and tamarind sauces were great. Garlic Naan (toasted pita bread) and Beef Samosa were favorites. I also enjoyed a fresh salad with lettuce, cucumber, radish, and tomato. I definitely want to come back and...
