BlueWaters Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Marathon

While I enjoyed the food I was severely disappointed in the service. The bar and grill is associated with the hotel and we had a $30 food and beverage charge each day. If we ordered the food through room service( which included an extra $5) we had no problem getting our food but whenever we ordered in person and said we would pick it up they always seemed annoyed. They also took forever to acknowledge us when we would approach the bar and grill… would hardly look at us. One of the patrons already seated at the bar had to motion for the waitress to come and see what I needed.

My husband was a precious waiter and he said that the waitresses/waiters knew we were there but didn’t want to serve us. I also knew they knew we were there but they just would not acknowledge us…. I find that extremely rude and condescending.

The crab cakes platter was huge and could been shared with two people. Crab cakes had so much of actual crab meat instead of breading which was delicious and good. Fried Hot wings were okay. Calamari were over seasoned and salty which were not my favorite. I HAVE TO SAY HANDS DOWN THE KEY LIME PIE SLICE IS THE BEST I EVER HAD! You definitely should try even though it’s quite pricey for that slice($11) I had different pie slices from different places but this one is very soft, creamy, has that definite lime taste which it should have since it’s Key Lime pie. Nacho Stacks were good but I have no photo because me and my sister ate that up. The Miami Vice drink was delicious. Shirley Temple was made with Ginger Ale soda and grenadine. First of all this hotel was gorgeous top to bottom, the views, pool, rooms, infinity pool, ocean, and bar/restaurant…. I have been in the service industry for over 15 years and I love getting not only good food but great service. We sat at the bar and the spicy chicken sandwich was the best I have ever had in my life… I know that sounds like a strong statement but i promise I do not say that lightly. Great experience and we will only be staying at this hotel from now on! Mike was amazing, and even the crowd was great (I know that’s anecdotal) but it made it a better experience! Can’t wait to...
