Do this!!!! This was the BEST EXPERIENCE we had in the Keys, all of them.
The staff here are so welcoming, sweet, and so friendly. The property is clean and maintained with pride. They have the prettiest items in the gift shop, such cute stuff, informative books, every cool color of shirt you could want, some jewelry, some garden flags, all kinds of things. The best gift shop!
Our guide knew her stuff!! She was super sweet and allowed questions all along the way if you had any, she had plastic rain ponchos in her jacket pocket for us since it was due to rain and offered us water before we left the cooler area and restrooms, so thoughtful and considerate. They offered a golf cart ride for anyone that wasn’t able to walk too. Our guide was so informative as she guided us around the hospital, about the history of how it came to be and the turtles we visited. We learned so much! I really enjoyed the format where we all watched an informative introduction presentation because it made it where 10 people didn’t ask what’s wrong with that one or that one every turtle they saw, although pure guide introduced every turtle species, name, and ailments for us too. My daughter was able to feed the turtles in the back big pool some pellet food the guide gave her and she loved that.
We bought a super cool book about turtles, a wooden turtle key chain, a shirt, and adopted April for a year!
Adopt the turtles that can’t be released, it is very reasonable and you get updates emailed to you on how they are doing during the year, so fun 🤩!
I highly recommend this to everyone!!! It is a must do.

Read moreA Haven for Turtles! I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Turtle Hospital in Marathon, Florida, and I can't praise it enough. From the moment we stepped in, the staff greeted us warmly, radiating enthusiasm and much knowledge. Their passion for the turtles was contagious, making our visit not just informative but truly enjoyable.
Throughout our time there, the staff were incredibly engaging, taking the time to answer all our questions and educate us on the rehabilitation process. It was evident that they were not only experts in their field but also deeply committed to the well-being of the turtles under their care.
What struck me most was the genuine love and dedication the team showed towards each turtle. They shared stories of the turtles' journeys, their challenges, and their triumphs, making us feel connected to these magnificent creatures on a personal level.
I was particularly touched by the sacrifices the staff make to ensure the turtles' successful rehabilitation and eventual release back into the wild. Their tireless efforts and countless hours of work behind the scenes truly exemplify their dedication to conservation and environmental stewardship!
My visit was not just educational but inspiring. I left with a newfound appreciation for these incredible animals and a deep admiration for the incredible work being done by the dedicated team at the center. I highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in learning more about marine conservation and witnessing firsthand the impact of compassion and...

This was a horrible experience for my family. We were a group of 5 adults and 1 child, including my elderly parents who both use canes and walk very slowly. We were all excited to visit, learn about the turtles, and support the hospital's mission. We followed all instructions, including filling our water bottles for the 90-minute outdoor tour, and waited in the designated area.
When the educator came out for the 12:30 PM tour, she told everyone to follow her and immediately started walking at a very fast pace. There was no consideration for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. My parents simply couldn’t keep up, and no effort was made to accommodate or even acknowledge that some people were being left behind.
By the time the rest of us caught up with the group, they had already finished watching the introductory video and had moved on to another area — this was according to another guest we spoke with. At that point, we were completely disheartened. We returned to the reservation area, requested a refund, and left.
It really makes you wonder if they’re genuinely interested in educating people or just collecting money. This experience showed a total lack of accessibility, consideration, and hospitality. I would not recommend this place to anyone traveling with elderly family members, people with disabilities, or anyone who expects to be treated with...
