Update: Downgraded to one-star. The owner e-mailed and asked if I could provide more details on my bad experience — I was impressed at first, that he was concerned…. so I told him that the hostess was downright rude and ignored me when I tried to check in and took care of the people standing in line behind me and when I attempted to tell her I was there first, she was dismissive and walked off to seat that other party. At that point we should have walked out but the weather was nasty and we were hungry. I responded to the owner 5 days ago… he has not responded and this speaks volumes… and tells me that he is as much of an a-hole as the hostess is.

Our experience disappointingly started off very poorly with an extremely rude receptionist. However Jay, our server quickly ameliorated our disappointment with his pleasant and attentive service. The vibe is upbeat and food was excellent… I can’t say enough about the charred broccoli… I never would’ve thought I’d be giving a vegetable such an accolade! The other dishes were also prepared creatively and cooked to perfection. 2-stars only because the receptionist…. our first impression … was totally despicable and her condescending attitude is...

5 Corners Kitchen is a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Marblehead. From the moment you step inside, the warm ambiance and attentive staff make you feel right at home.

The menu is a delightful blend of French-Mediterranean bistro fare, showcasing the chef’s commitment to classic, well-executed dishes. The Steak Frites is a standout—perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Duck Confit is another must-try, offering rich flavors that are both comforting and sophisticated. For seafood lovers, the Skate Wing Meunière is a delicate and flavorful option that doesn’t disappoint.

The cocktail program is equally impressive. The Purple Rain and Old Cuban are expertly crafted, balancing flavors that complement the meal beautifully.

Service is impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, and always with a genuine smile. It’s evident that the staff takes pride in providing an exceptional dining experience.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, 5 Corners Kitchen offers a dining experience that’s both memorable and satisfying. It’s a true testament to the vibrant culinary scene...

I was at the re-opening party last night and it was just fabulous! The new and expanded space is wonderfully hip and classy at the same time. Tastefully decorated and with great improvements that bring the sound level down, it now offers a view into the kitchen through an elongated glass window, that allows a glimpse of the artisans at work.

And the food is as breath-taking as it always has been. Chef and owner Barry Edelman brought out some of his favorite dishes last night, including his famous skate wing, red beet salad, and the lamb chops.

The new menu includes local and super-fresh fare, and you can now either get a reservation on the restaurant side or just drop in on the bar side and sit in the lounge. A new addition to the menu is the raw bar that includes fresh oysters, as well as a hugely increased wine list.

You will want to make your reservations soon, because this is (again) the hottest place in Marblehead (and...

I was told by multiple people this was the best restaurant in Marblehead, and I am inclined to agree. We had an absolutely fantastic meal here the other night. The cocktails, the wine, and the food were all excellent. We started with the tartare, which was wonderful with the fried wontons. We then had the duck confit (light and citrusy), pork chop (smoky and juicy), and the skate wing (superb). All three of us enjoyed our entrees immensely. We then had the sticky toffee pudding, which you cannot go wrong with. The staff was so helpful and attentive, and the ambiance is chill and clean. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend it.

We ate here during our first night and had a wonderful time! The place itself is beautifully decorated on the inside and out and the ambiance was great. We had a reservation and didn't wait for our table at all. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations especially when it came to our wines! For food, we ordered the Steak Frites, Brussel Sprouts, and French Onion Soup for dinner, as well as some sticky toffee pudding and affogato. Everything we had was great! We loved our over all experience and recommend coming here if your staying in the area!

5 corners was recommended by a friend as having exceptional food. What was exception was the atmosphere and what was very good was the service. The food is good just not exceptional. The Chicken Liver Pate and the Brussels sprout appetisers were excellent. The French onion soup and oysters decent. The Entrées ranged from very good (Sole and steak Frites) to the good ( Duck confit and Chicken. The CK Burger was ordinary and I guess while we enjoyed our time together, we all left feeling that for the price charged it was not quite up to the mark.
