Verdi’s is the best Restaurant on Marco Island. After living on Marco for 15 years I have been to almost every restaurant several times and many have specific specialties I would go back for. How fortunate are we to live in Paradise. But when recently asked, by my nephew, Paul, what is the BEST restaurant on Marco Island, my answer was Verdi’s hands down!!! Verdi’s selects a few entrees and does each of them to perfection. The delicacy of the lamb chops over mashed potatoes has withstood the test of time and hundreds of people have been flocking to Verdi’s for this dish for over 20 years because of the secret way they prepare it. Grilled Shrimp and Chilean Bass are two more favorites that are always cooked to perfection. Some say it’s their grille, maintained to perfection along with everything else in the restaurant. The quality of the food they start with is always a factor. And then you have the chef, highly skilled with an attention to detail. But to tell you the truth, it starts at the top with Vince, the owner. He is a fabulous, kind, dedicated, sincere and genuine person who cares about his guests. When you go to Verdi’s it’s like you are coming to dine in his home. He makes you feel that special. What’s even more impressive is that he treats everyone who works there like that too. Whether you are the wine salesperson, the table service company or an electrician completing work at his restaurant, Vince will greet you, show you respect and appreciate you. Verdi’s is the best restaurant on Marco Island because of the atmosphere, attention to detail, quality of food, consistency flavor and dedication of everyone that Vince has assembled here just for you. Read moreExtremely Wonderful + Nostalgic Experience. My father was an amazing independent restauranteur and I grew up dining at the best independent restaurants in my area. I’ll never forget what it was like to see that sense of pride owners and chefs would have in their restaurant. True artistry, craftsmanship and love for one’s craft.
Tonight my wife and I dined at Verdi while on vacation with our family. It was a rare night out for us and immediately upon entering (we showed up 15 min before they open but they let us in early) we felt the graciousness and sense of wanting us to be there. We were lucky enough to have Michele as our server and she was just amazing. The level of caring and service she provided was simply wonderful. She brought out 3 samples of wine for me to try and it felt like a wine flight! We ended up ordering the following:
Warm Brie appetizer - amazing Prince Edward mussels- amazing Beet salad - amazing Vegetable pasta for my wife - delicious! Chilean sea bass - good Banana’s foster dessert- STAR of the meal!!!
All and all, everything about this restaurant reminded me of my childhood growing up in wonderful independent restaurants. From the choices of decor, to stunning glassware and unique plates, you can absolutely see the level of thought the owners have put into their business.
Thank you to Michele and everyone at Verdi for a wonderful dining experience!
We will absolutely be back when we next...
Read moreWe were here on my Birthday evening a few days ago. A mixed bag ..
The good: They wrote Happy Birthday on our tablecloth and wished me a Happy Birthday. A nice touch. Server was quick to welcome us and walked through the specials. The rack of lamb was beautifully prepared and well flavored. The special for the night Shrimp Scampi was also a hit for a member of our party.
The bad: They had the door open when we arrived (Thursday night dinner) and left it open for most of the meal service. Flies flew in and the restaurant was not as cool due to the door being open. The shrimp and scallops was sloppily assembled and not prepared like the expensive dish it was. Where was the care and distinctive flavors on this dish? The bigger issue was the wait staff. Our server, a seemingly nice woman who spoke Portuguese and Spanish, was thoroughly engrossed in another table that spoke Spanish. We barely saw here after they arrived. She was rushed and not clear with us on menu choices. Very disappointing. Never saw a manager or anyone else who asked how was our meals.
We used to love Verdi’s, but they now lack a lot of appeal after...
