Not one to post reviews, BUT very disappointed with service during takeout this week. Ordered dinner at 7 p.m. with 35-40 minute wait quoted. Showed up at 7:40 to pick up. After some troubled looks, I was told my order was given to someone else by mistake and they would rush my replacement. That took 20 minutes. While waiting, the person that got my order by mistake, showed up with my food to get their correct order. She apologized to me and asked what burger I ordered because "it was really good". I told her it wasn't her fault and it was the Bourbon burger. The kitchen staff then chimed in from behind the counter and told her it had onion jam and "she can just keep the wrong order". She then left with BOTH her order AND my order (aka $46.00 of free food).
When my order was ready, I asked what time it was. I was told it's 7:55, they are very sorry, and I was handed my order. I'm not the type to get angry and demand free food for poor service. I watch to see how the establishment handles the situation and it gets logged and noted. I saw a woman walking around who I would bet was the manager. She had to have seen me standing by the hostess and door to the kitchen for 20 minutes, yet I wasn't approached to ask if someone could help. At the very least, I could have been offered a beer at the bar while I waited. They could have/probably should have at least comped my chicken wing appetizer, considering this all happened right in front of my eyes. Something ......
I also wonder why they waited for me to show up before remaking my order. That should have happened as soon as they were called by the other person and realized my food was given away. They also could have used one of the many burgers I saw coming out of the kitchen during the time I was standing there.
I paid $46.00 for my order plus a $4.00 tip in advance, for service. I paid $50.00 to wait an hour for my food, stand there for 20 minutes and watch someone walk out with MY free food.
The staff was pleasant, yet I really feel this was so very poorly handled, considering the amount of money spent with this establishment and letting that all play out right in front of me. Just very...
Read moreFirst thing we noticed is the physical menus had inconsistencies between mine and my SO. Items were missing on my menu but on hers. We ordered our main course and our appetizer at the same time. The appetizer came quickly but we were disappointed with the portion size. It was 5 pieces total and the bread used for the fig and goat cheese bruschetta was maybe 2 inches long at best and not even an inch wide. They were so tiny it was insane. They were good and the flavors complimented well but the portions for the price was obscene. Our main course took almost 40 minutes to be served. This would have been understandable, to a degree, if the place was full but there were open tables. Food was brought out and it wasn't or tables order. It was physically sat in front of us then the waitress was like oops wrong table. No sorry no anything just picked it back up and wandered off to someone else. I had the salmon and, while it was cooked correctly, it was rather bland. The rice was ok and the asparagus was fine but the salmon was a let down. The creme fraiche didn't have even the faintest hint of lemon and tasted more like sour cream than creme fraiche. The Korean tacos my SO had were fine but not worth the price tag. You can go to condados and get the same thing for far cheaper. With the prices we paid we both would have preferred to have...
Read moreFirst off, my wife and I have always enjoyed Dilly. We've had very good food and the atmosphere has been fun. Tonight was an exception.
For context, the last time we were there I ordered the Dilly burger and asked for jalapeno peppers on the burger. The server came back after we ordered and said that there out of jalapenos....bummer, but it happens.
So tonight I first asked the server if they had fresh jalapenos just to be sure prior to ordering. The server came back and said "yes, we do have fresh jalapenos tonight, but the cook wasn't taking special orders". Hmm, I didn't realize that adding jalapenos to a burger was "special".....or all that difficult. Although I was confused by that answer, (the server apologized and said, "yeah, I don't understand it either"), I went ahead and ordered the burger without the jalapenos....my wife ordered the asparagus and shrimp salad with the dressing on the side. Away the server went to enter the order. The burger was "right", but the salad came with the dressing on top; not on the side. My wife tried the salad even with the dressing on it, but decided she did want the dressing on the side. The server said "no problem" and brought a new salad out. However, the asparagus and shrimp were cold by that time. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Not sure...
