What makes this park special is that it is entirely shaded by the trees for the kids play area. It is a wood mulch area so shoes recommended. The play structure is a typical one, there are platform tables at kids' height which are also great if you bring a toy or dig in the dirt. The play area is fenced in and does have a grass area, too. There's a cute little play house but it needs some TLC for sure. But for a bunch of messy toddlers, it's no biggie. Every time I've been, it's almost completely shaded. Along the trails, there is an old boathouse repurposed into a nature center and a stream. The trails themselves are a bit uneven and I slipped a couple times, probably because I visited in the fall when leaves were covering the ground.
