Let's face the facts, when you're thinking of McDonalds, are you really thinking of a good or great customer service experience? I know that I don't. But this morning's experience just went to a completely different level.
This morning, we went to vote across the street from the Whitlock McDonald's. Both of us were hungry as we'd not eaten yet, today. We arrived just after 10:30am in the restaurant was in the process of change over.
My better half ordered an Egg McMuffin, Burrito and two hash browns. We were told that there were no hash browns. No big deal. I asked for a Big Mac and a water. I was told that they did have them ready. Thus, I ordered one.
We made our payment and proceeded to the pick up window. Upon receiving the bag, we checked to make sure that the order was complete. Well ... because McDonald's.
We found that the order was missing the Big Mac. You know, the only thing that I had ordered to eat. The you man at the Drive Through inquired from someone in back. They told him that the Big Mac had been removed from the order. I explained it had not and it was clearly on the menu board and we paid for it. Without apology for lying about the item being removed, we were told that we'd have to wait and needed to pull forward. At that point, I was rather upset for being blatantly lied to. I can handle a simple mistake, but don't lie about if money was removed from a transaction.
I then said, I wanted a refund. I could hear the Manager or Team lead say that "he's going to have to wait." I asked if the dining room was open and I'd handle it in there. I was assured that it was. Thus, I got out of the car and went to the dining room.
I went to the register, inside. A young man greeted me. I said that I needed a refund. The young man approached the Manager or Team Lead. She, again said, "he'll have to wait."
When she finally arrived she started to process the transaction without saying anything. No apology for inconvenience or being lied to. No nothing. Not even a greeting. I then mentioned, "next time don't lie." To which, she became upset and even ruder than she had been before. (Is this possible?) She said, "insert the card." I explained that I would have to go to the card to get it.
When I came back in, she was talking with and telling another customer about the situation and painting me as the villain in this situation. Who dos this? Who bring a customer service issue to other customers?
I began to hand her the card. She said, "I don't want to touch your card." As if I was dirty or contaminated. She said, "insert it." I did and received the refund for the Big Mac.
I noted that I was going to fill out the survey. (I did as soon as I got back into the car.) She said that is fine as the transaction was being taped and recorded for view. I noted that's good as it would confirm everything that I'd said.
The entire gist of this is, the Manager or Lead of this restaurant had absolutely zero customer service skills. She didn't even have the basics that I would expect for a line employee to have. Honestly, the young man at the Drive Thru and the young man at the front counter had more kindness and customer service skills than was demonstrated by the Manager/Lead. I would recommend that the Manager/Lead be provided some resources for basic customer service skills.

Read moreI had to wait a day to write this review, because I was so mad about what happened. So I am 40 weeks pregnant & decided to stop at this McDonald’s on the way to go visit my family. I was really craving some chicken nuggets. As I pull in the drive thru is already backed up (it’s about 7:15) no big deal! I order my 10 piece nugget meal, large Dr Pepper, and ice cream cone. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the window after ordering. Once I get to the window they hand me my drink, with no ice, and then my ice cream cone. They tell me to pull up to mobile 3, because they are waiting on fresh fries. (They had the two cars in front of my pull up as well) After about 10 minutes of waiting they bring food to all the other cars & proceed to tell me that they are waiting on fresh nuggets for my meal. Fine, I mean it takes all of 5 minutes for both fries and nuggets to fry, but okay I’ll wait. I waited about TWENTY minutes, before deciding to walk in. I’m irritated and starving at this point, I’ve been waiting a total of 40 minutes! They looked shocked at me when I ask if I’m ever getting my food, an asked “did no one ever bring your food out?” Obviously not, or I wouldn’t still be here! They put my meal together (they already had food made and ready!) and guess what?! The initial reason they had me pull up for fresh fries, the fries they gave me were ice cold! Wish I could’ve said the same for my drink at least. I am officially done with ALL McDonald’s, especially after this experience and the POOR management at...
Read moreMcDonald’s is world-renowned for their stupidity and incompetence. This location is no exception. Nothing bothers me more than a business that just decides on the fly to close early. I pulled into the drive thru at 10:48 pm with one car ahead of me. I then watched while the lady in front of me tried for 6 minutes to get the dimwit working inside to accept her mobile order. I finally pulled up to the speaker at 10:54. The girl immediately came on and said they were closed. I asked her what time she had. She said 10:55. I informed her they were open until 11 pm. She apologized and said they were closed.
How lazy do you have to be? I always use McDonald’s as an example to my kids of what happens to stupid, lazy people in life. They wind up managing a McDonalds. Because this really is management’s issue. McDonald’s is consistently awful. This location already has a pitiful three star rating. So you would think whoever manages this location would be trying hard to improve their reputation. But McDonald’s doesn’t care about their customers. They are the Gold standard in poor service and lack of training.
I guess I should feel sorry for the lazy girl that wouldn’t take my order on Tuesday night 7/25/23. She is a perfect candidate to become a McDonald’s manager and will probably work there for life, slowly bringing the average rating...
