OMG!!!! Where do I begin! Nneka Alexander is the best! I started following Brides by Nona on Instagram when it popped up on my feed about almost a year before I got engaged. I came across some dresses and designs I liked in part here and there on other advertisements, but they were nothing like the work of Nneka. When I got engaged, I immediately went online and booked an in-person consultation.

A few weeks later I flew out to Atlanta for my appointment. There was a calming and refreshing feeling when I walked into her store and I immediately told my sister and personal planner, this is it. This is who is supposed to design and produce my wedding dress. She makes you feel like you are the only Bride in the World!!!!

I told her that I knew what I wanted in my head, but I just couldn't quite explain it. Within 20 minutes of speaking with her, she described what she envisioned my dress to be. I cried like a baby because it was exactly what I wanted. She even described how she would stitch my deceased mother's name, in stones, on my wrist and forearm area, which is something she had never done before. I cried even harder. I We said our goodbyes and I flew back out.

Within a few weeks, she sent me the 3D sketch of my dress and I said YES!!! My dress went into production and I waited anxiously. Shortly before the wedding, I flew back for my final fitting and the tears flowed again for what seems like forever when I saw the final product and tried it on. It was a perfect fit!

Nneka came to my wedding to help dress me via her White Glove Service. God is so good because her flight was one of the few flights that was able to depart during the major outage in late July that delayed or canceled flights.

I told her I wanted to look and feel like a princess for my ceremony and look "Chante' Sexy" for my reception. Let me tell you...MY GIRL OVER DELIVERED!!!!!!!

Nneka, thank you for helping to make my dream become a reality. I recommend all brides to please give her a serious look. I know that not only have I found a designer for life, but that I have also found a sister and friend. Brides by Nona almost ruined my daughter’s big day. Let’s start shall we. First we went to Atlanta from New Jersey in April of 2023 to do measurements and give a HUGE DEPOSIT for my daughters custom gown. We were told we would receive updates and videos in a few weeks. Never happened. My daughter sent message to the owner in June asking for updates. Nothing. Then we were told to come in August for first fitting. Booked flights, hotel and rental car. The day before we were to fly out, we were contacted that she had a death in her family and we needed to reschedule. Now this is August. We were asked to come a month later. You know now, I am wondering has a dress even been started. We were asked to come 9/15 which is 2 weeks before the wedding. Trust me she says(the owner) Day before we leave guess what she cancels. Oh the dress isn’t dry cleaned. Fast forward to week of wedding, still no fitting on a dress we have deposited thousands of dollars on. The assistant is sent to New Jersey the week of wedding on a Tuesday. Guess what dress doesn’t fit. We are LIVID!!!! The custom detachable bottom of the dress is not the bottom discussed but a bunch of tulle bunched up that looks like a 3 year old made it. Assistant takes dress back after cutting it down the butt do my daughter can actually pull it up and be fixed. Dress comes back via the assistant on that Thursday, one day before the wedding because the owner doesn’t even have the balls to come herself. Dress pulls up but guess what. My daughter can’t even sit in the dress. We are completely stuck now because the wedding is the next day. The business practices of Brides by Nona is absolutely HORRIBLE unless you are a celebrity or a millionaire. We are not millionaires but were willing to spend thousands of dollars for our daughter’s special day. Our conclusion is the dress was thrown together the week before. We were treated horribly with all the cancellations the day before the fittings. A total of 3x. I suggest if you are out of town bride, avoid this place. Please avoid. A Masterpiece in Record Time!

What can I say?! If a custom couture gown is your dream…find a way and make it happen! First off… my deepest gratitude goes to Nneka! Less than two months out, my original gown encountered unexpected issues. I had one month until my wedding day, when Nneka's dedication and craftsmanship began to save the day. My gown was absolutely stunning …so stunning that I want to wear it again! From the sketch’s, to my virtual measurements, and my fitting - everything was spot on. Not to mention my measurements were only taken once! I traveled to ATL (from VA) for my perfect fitting where Nneka and her team treated me like a queen. It was truly such a pleasure to work with she and her team, as they definitely followed through.

Her willingness to accommodate my situation was incredibly touching for me. Iykyk. The attention to detail and the way she brought my vision to life were beyond words. Nneka and team, I can't thank you enough for making my special day perfect. I highly recommend Brides By Nona for anyone seeking a remarkable wedding gown experience!

I must add that I had my eye on Brides by Nona for the past two years, but I never thought I’d actually be able to afford a custom gown given my time frame.
