It is rare that I have a dining experience that's so poor that it literally leaves me in tears and honestly afraid for my family's safety. Spending the night in Marion during the filming of a documentary, we did our best to find a restaurant that wasn't a chain. After reading the reviews online, we used our GPS to find this restaurant, driving out of our way to go to a place that is more of a local joint. Oh, how wrong we were.
From the moment we walked in, the woman behind the counter was ride. I ordered my children's pasta first. She must have not heard me because she kept snapping at me to repeat everything. Actually snapping at me (to the point where my son whispered to me, "Why is she yelling?") When she got to me, she asked me if I wanted any meat. I said no. She immediately reached down, got a bunch of chicken, and threw it on the dish. I was kind of shocked, actually. So shocked that I didn't know what to say. She barked at us some more and then we left. When we sat down, both of my children were stunned. "That wasn't very good service," my son said. My daughter was upset to the point that she would not eat.
I then flagged another server down and asked for the manager. When he came over, I told him about the chicken. My children backed me up: both agreed that I had not asked for meat. (Indeed, I am a vegetarian. I wouldn't eat chicken to start with.) The manager offered to replace the dish and asked me to follow him to the counter. My daughter accompanied me.
When I got up there, the woman that had originally served me was behind the counter, talking about me. Before anyone could say anything, she began screaming at me for being rude. I am not exaggerating-she was actually hollering. Other diners stopped eating and began looking at us and pointing at the counter. Someone got my husband's attention and showed him what was going on so he came up and joined me. The woman was STILL screaming about how rude I was being. The manager proceeded to chastise her and asked her to go in the back. This did not deter her. She started for the back but then stopped, came back, and hollered some more.
At this point, I was disturbed. This woman did not appear to be acting in a rational manner. With so many problems with violence these days, I was afraid to engage with her for the safety of my daughter. The manager apologized and said that he'd been having problems with her for the past few weeks and that she's been doing this to other customers. He offered us a gift certificate but not only do we not even live in the state of Ohio, but it's not the kind of place we're excited about returning to. He said that it wasn't us, it was her, and that he would need to "talk to her". Although the manager was gracious and tried to make things right, it was hardly making things okay. My 6-year-old daughter ran back to our table, crawled up in her chair, and got on her hands and knees. She buried her head in her hands and began shaking.
We took our children and left without them finishing their food. I was actually concerned that the belligerent worker might follow us to our vehicle and attack me. That's how unsettling this experience was.
For what it's worth, my husband had a few bites of his salad and he said...
Read moreI am a delivery driver, of which I have no problems saying so. That being said, i felt pretty degraded coming into your store yesterday, and followed my app's directions EXPLICITLY, it said order number 127 don't go by customers names. In all of the time i have delivered for said app, I never been treated like this. I get that you were busy, but she didn't have to demand to see my app to make sure that i hit CONFIRM PICKUP.
I'm not an idiot, and don't appreciate being treated that way. Plus, it's a security issue showing my app to your food service worker. I know who she is, and what she looks like. Yes, you were packed but if you can't work under pressure, don't work in the food service industry. I been working for restaurant business since I was 16 and I'm 54 now delivering food, because people are picky about my medical issues. I'd LOVE to have a job at a restaurant. I take my reviews very serious. Your food was delivered very hot to my customer, which was fantastic!!! Please work on customer service, I'm not joking when i say that i take my reviews extremely seriously. I have over 4.1 MILLION, YES MILLION views on my reviews. I am NOT gonna have this conversation again. The first time that I picked up for your restaurant, i was NEVER asked to show my app to see if i hit confirm pick up. We're gonna have issues if it happens again. I will keep reporting said worker, it was around 5 pm last night, I don't deliver at night due to my disability, but wanted to get this last order in. please work on your customer service!!! Sorry for the novelish rant!!! i also reported her to the app that i work for. I have a 5.0 rating, and extremely high acceptance rate, yes it's door dash, and do NOT ever do that...
Read moreI normally like sansottas and the food is always good. But the staff can be very rude and unfriendly. I was greeted right when entering the building and had to wait more than 5 minutes before being asked what I wanted to order. Typically this wouldn’t be an issue but one girl was on the phone and the other was literally just standing there. None of the girls had their hair pulled all the way back. I understand not wanting to have a hair net on but they had their hair in ponytails, It just really turns me off to the food. And lo and behold I did find a hair in my food. Lastly, when I asked the girl about how to use my rewards she said “idk” and I said okay? Do I need to pull it up on my phone? And she replied again that she didn’t know. Educate your employees to answer customer questions!!! I did give 3 stars because the food is usually good but not...
