Marseilles Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Marseilles

Just moved to Marseilles last year, so location is close to home, BUT I'm autistic and because of sensory issues, I have an aversion to actually going into this diner, and have explained this more than once to them, and request curbside service. If Amy is working, she will accommodate this, but the other woman who takes phones orders REFUSES TO ACCOMMODATE my requests for curbside service, and always has some lame excuse.

The only reason I'm ordering from there lately is that my usual diner, Brite Spot in Ottawa, has been closed all summer because of a fire, and they aren't opening back up until November. Unlike Marseilles Diner, Brite Spot is a comfortable place for me, they have known me for a long time, and treat me like family. It has become obvious that Marseilles Diner has zero interest in my patronage. Today, after being refused curbside service AGAIN, I said NO MORE. I ordered curbside service at the Hi-Way Restaurant in Ottawa, and I'll be going there until Brite Spot opens back up.

I usually order breakfast a few times a week, and dinner 1-2 times a week. That money adds up. It should be against the law to refuse to accommodate people with special needs. Just because it's not a physical disability doesn't mean anything. People with sensory issues need special accommodations too sometimes. Shame on Marseilles Diner for failing to accommodate ALL special needs. I grew up in Ottawa and will be sharing this with my friends. Update: there is one waitress there who always is rude to me, and she calls me ma'am all the time, even when I tell her to stop, even when I show her my driver's license with my male name and male sex marker, she is either stupid or she does it intentionally. This is not an accurate 'live' review as I haven't really been to this place so I am not sure why it is asking me to rate it... If I do however go here I will update my review to accurately reflect my experience however I am willing to provide them with the average score on principal as I do not wish to completely ruin anyone's overall scoring with a review that isn't even real, so disregard this if possible, if not please let me know as I would hate to negatively impact your business especially when I haven't even tried it yet. EDIT 7/14/24 I apologize as I do not want to ruin your reputation or harm your business without cause. I have updated it to five stars pending an actual review as to not harm your current rating, although I want to be clear that I am not trying to artificially inflate it either, I am simply tired of Google asking me to rate it as it thinks that I have been there. If I could give this family restaurant more stars than 5, I would! Nicest employees who really care for their customers with a joyful attitude of service. Stopped here after showing real estate down the road and so glad to have enjoyed the BEST all-you-care to eat Walleye Fish Fry. Maybe I was super hungry, but the simple salad with the ranch was the best I've had in a while. And the GENEROUS first-serving of the Walleye didn't have me asking for more. Perfectly presented and the absolute BEST TASTING and TOP CHEF PREPARED Walleye that you couldn't replicate in the finest restaurants for triple the price. I don't know how they have such affordable prices, but Marseilles Family Restaurant is the best value and deserves everyone's business to support a GREAT Family Restaurant!
